Hello!

It's been a minute, but the new and improved Expanded Mermaids mod is here! I've spent over nine months adding new skills, gameplay items and objects, spells, perk systems, and more to one of my first mods and I'm so excited for you all to enjoy it. This mod adds a TON of new gameplay to mermaids, so let's go over what you're getting when you download it!

New & Improved Ocean Interactions

The ocean interactions from the first version of the mod have been improved with new collectibles, new outcomes, and different outcomes based on location.

Mermaid sims can Dive Underwater in any swimmable ocean or lake to go on rabbithole adventures with a selection of possible rewards that are helpful for building the new skills from this mod. They can Dive Deeper (requires Fitness level 3) in Sulani and Tartosa for extra-special rewards as well. Dive for Kelp will now give 4 different varieties of kelp that mermaids can consume and Fetch Fish allows mermaids to hunt for fish with specific selections based on what world they are swimming in.

New interactions have been added for finding specific ingredients, some of which require the new Mermaid Mythology skill. Finally, non-mermaid sims are able to Scuba Dive anywhere in Sulani or Tartosa as long as they've purchased a Rebreather from one of the scuba buoys and they can Snorkel anywhere as well.

Mermaid Ranks and XP

Mermaids have been given a couple new stats, Mermaid Rank and Mermaid XP.

Mermaid Rank is a 5-level skill similar to the ranks of vampires, werewolves, and spellcasters. This controls which perks are available to mermaids and how successfully they use them. It is increased by swimming, lounging in mermaid form, using perk abilities, or any other mermaid-related activities.

Mermaid XP is a 3-level skill that works like the XP of a vampire or spellcaster. Once your sim hits level 3, they will be able to select a perk, where the skill will reset and start building again for your next perk. It is gained in the same ways Mermaid Rank is.

Aquatic Perks & Weaknesses

There are a selection of perks and abilities for mermaids now! By building their rank and XP, mermaids will be able to gain perks that will help them and add useful powers or develop weaknesses that give them negative effects or extra abilities.

Weaknesses can be developed randomly through gameplay (unless you use the cheat I've included with testingcheats enabled to disable this) or they can be given in a few other ways intentionally through gameplay or cheats.

Mermaid Mythology

The Mermaid Mythology skill is a new 10-level skill that offers tons of lore to mermaids, a few new socials, improvements to the Ask if Mermaid interaction, books with special recipes that are crafted at bars or stoves, and more. This skill is built by reading the Mermaid Mythology books that can be bought from Build/Buy or the computer.

Sea Witches

Sea Witches have received a huge overhaul with new spells, craftable potions, a new system for fulfilling contracts with sims, and new items to use.

Poseidon's Grimoire is a special book that sims can find while Diving Deep in Sulani or Tartosa. Once examined, this book will instruct your sim on how to become a Sea Witch and will subsequently allow them to learn spells.

Sea Sorcery is the 10-level skill that determines what spells can be learned and the success rate of them. Spells can be learned from Poseidon's Grimoire. Too many spells learned at once may be overwhelming for your sim, but taking a break or doing other Sea Witch activities will help them recover.

Tidal Energy is a Sea Witch's level of magic energy, gained from swimming in the ocean or meditating under the moon. If it gets too low, a Sea Witch cannot perform certain spells or abilities.

The Deep Sea Conch is another object that relates to Sea Witches. If your sim finds this item while deep diving and they are either a Sea Witch or they've read about this special shell in the Mermaid Mythology books, they will be able to summon Sea Witches that have been placed in the world if they blow the conch over a cauldron.

Sea Witch's Cauldron

This item, which can be found in Build/Buy under the activities & skills section in the Study category, allows Sea Witches to learn and craft potions of varying types. Once your sim starts gaining Sea Sorcery skill, they will unlock more advanced potions. These potions can then be consumed or thrown at other sims to see their effects or to fulfill the terms of a contract.

Sea Witch Contracts

Just like in the older version of this mod, Sea Witches can form contracts with sims in exchange for unique payments, but this system has been expanded on and improved massively. Now, contracts are actual objects that can be crafted once your Sea Witch learns how to with level 5 Sea Sorcery.

Crafting Contracts - This can be done at the cauldron. Your sim will conjure a contract over the cauldron, where you'll be able to select a number of options for the spell/potion used, the payment required, and the time limit for the other sim to give their payment. Once crafted, you will be able to see the terms listed in the object's tooltip description.

Signing - Once a contract is crafted, it can be placed back over the cauldron, where you can select nearby sims who fit the proper criteria to sign this agreement. The Sea Witch will explain the terms and the other sim will sign their name, sealing their fate!

Fulfillment - Fulfilling a contract is simply done by selecting the contract and choosing "Initiate Contract Fulfillment". A special event will begin, instructing you to perform the agreed upon spell or use the potion necessary. Spells and potions need to be learned by the Sea Witch in order to successfully complete this event!

Payment - After fulfillment, the time limit chosen will begin and the other sim will have that amount of time to pay the Sea Witch's dues. If they neglect to pay, the Sea Witch can enact consequences by selecting the contract and choosing "Enforce Consequence".

This system can be a fun way to earn money as a Sea Witch or to cause havoc!

Kelpies and other Aquatic Sims

Kelpies are another kind of aquatic creature dwelling in the sea. They're more fishy than their mermaid counterparts and have their own set of abilities that have been improved with this update.

Kelpie Form- Kelpies have a separate form that has been given a makeover with better textures and overall design. They have several color variant options that can be chosen through the Kelpie Form pie menu as well as some new customization options.

Shapeshifting Power- This motive controls a Kelpie's ability to hide their true self. If it depletes, the sim will be forced to transform similarly to a werewolf and will be stuck that way for a while. In this update, Kelpies now have a hidden skill that gives better control over the transformation as time goes on.

Other Aquatic Beings- There are also a couple temporary aquatic lifestates that have their own abilities and can be gained through gameplay, with potions, or with Sea Witch spells.

Child Mermaids

In this new update, your child sims can be real mermaids! MANY adult mermaid animations have been converted for children that allow them to Dive Underwater, Dive for Kelp, sleep in the ocean, lounge in mermaid form, and more!

Mermaid Form- Child mermaids don't have the same occult form that adult mermaids do, but both tail styles from Island Living have been converted for children, as well as the custom tails from my Down Under Set and my Atlantica Set! These can be selected from a pie menu on the child sim, which will set that tail style and swatch as the one they change into when swimming, bathing, lounging, or using the Basking Rock.

Gameplay- As stated above, child mermaids can do many of the things adult mermaids can do, such as most of the ocean interactions, eating kelp, lounging in mermaid form, relaxing in mermaid form while in the hot tub or hot springs, etc.

New Objects/Items

New objects, both purchasable in Build/Buy and gameplay-acquired objects, are included in this mod. Most have custom interactions and gameplay features!

Requirements

This mod only requires Island Living and the Base Game to function! Certain gameplay interactions won't work without packs like Seasons or Vampires, but this doesn't affect the stability or functionality of the mod itself.

Compatibility

This mod overrides the Mermaid and Mermaid Form traits that came with Island Living and will conflict with any mod that alters those as well. The mod also overrides the Ask if Mermaid interaction, the base mermaid trait buff, the loots for Child of the Ocean sims reacting to mounted fish and consuming fish, and the transition interaction for drowning. Mods that use these resources will also conflict, but very few mods if any use these as far as I have seen.

Installation

*Make sure to remove the old Expanded Mermaids mod before installing this version!

I highly recommend placing ALL FILES from this mod DIRECTLY into your main mods folder, especially the .ts4script file. If you keep the files in their subfolders and you're having trouble finding items or gameplay doesn't work, try unpacking ALL the folders into the main mods folder!

Future Plans

As always, there are things I would like to circle back to later to add to this mod. Some potential additions are:

- More Sea Witch potions

- Additional spells

- More Kelpie variations

- More contract options

- More ocean interactions

These are not guaranteed, but any suggestions will be taken into consideration. :)

can there be a cheat to remove kelpie? i accident had my sims to eat a kelp and i tried to delete the kelpie trait but it seems to still coming back

I’ll definitely try to add that in the next update. In the meantime, if you enable testingcheats and enable bb.showhiddenobjects, you can search for “sea witch potion” in build/buy and find the elixir that is blue and yellow with a human sim on the label. That will turn your sim into a human and remove the kelpie lifestate.

Ah, I see. In that case, if you’re using a trait mod to remove the traits, make sure the sim is in human form and remove the Kelpie trait, then if you have Mc command center, remove all the buffs on the sim that reference kelpies. That should get rid of the occult permanently.

Question, since water sprinkles can force your sim turn into their mermaid/merman, why doesn’t rain also force your sims turn into a mermaid/merman? Like won’t it makes senses? (Hope you understand what I said, it’s literally 2 am for me lol)

Went crazy exploring a lot of the mod! I absolutely love it, but I did notice something with the merchildren. They seem to try and use the adult swimming animation and this causes them to walk on water with randomly generated tails and outfits. I was able to find a very simple work around. All you need to do to fix their appearance is to hide their mermadic form and then reveal it again. Still, it only ever happens during the odd chance that they try to use a different swimming animation. Also, I noticed that adult merfolk can coach their younger merchildren’s swimming. It would be amazing if that interaction allowed the adults to teach the children how to swim like them… honestly though, I’m absolutely in love with this mod regardless!

This mod is amazing. I have a suggestion but it seems challenging to mod in. I would love to see the forgotten grotto hidden world turned into a mermaid hang out like you did with Slyan glade for fairies. I don’t think the water is swimmable but if that would be possible I think it would really be amazing to have a hidden mermaid world. Alternative it could be a sea witch spot where human sims can go to ask to become mermaids. I’m going to play around and see if I can make it work with what’s already in the game, even just adding an object we could dive for which will transport your sims there would be awesome.

Hi I absolutely love the mod… here’s a couple of things I’ve noticed 1. It could be me but I can’t seem to get the contract gameplay to work 2. When using the spell aquatify the sim that I used it on made my game spazz out, almost like a crazed disco ball … so far that’s all I’ve noticed

I have question about giving voice to sea witch. Is there any way to get voice back? I already know that moonstruck can give you voice back but its for mermaids. What about sims that don't have this weakness or non mermaid sims? I know that breaking shell can give voice back but what when sea witch have it in inventory? Is there a way to get it back with any other methodes without cheast. Maybe option to steal this shell from her that i missed or something?? I am curious about this.

Keep practice breawing potions. If you cant teach your sim any potion try get his/her rank up. That should work.

I had this problem too. You need go to your mods folder and there you need delete last version of the mod. If you already done it and still have this problem try check for a 1 or 2 files that you missed

I have a problem with brewing potions. Even though my sim has all the ingredients that are needed, the option is still unavailable (yes, my sim knows the recipe, all the ingredients are in her inventory). Also, how do you get the ingredients like bottled seawater? I had to use "bb.showhiddenobjects" cheat to get it, because I just had no idea how to get it.

You click on the cauldron with the sea witch around and it gives you an option to make a contract with said sea witch.

I'm having an issue with initiating the contract terms. It's not giving me the option to. Just collect payment and whatnot. I'm taking out all of my mods for mermaids to see if that's the issue. Before I took out Extreme violence because one of the options was poison food when i clicked on the contract. Edt: Yea, it was none of those. After work i'm gonna try taking out everything to see if thats the issue.

I managed to get the event to work. First, I reloaded all the mods. Second, I made sure there wasn’t an event happening. The holiday known as prank day also prevented the event from triggering. I’m thinking holidays can interfere with the event.

ello i thought it'll be ok to share my ideal, but will there be a ability to have a sims to forget you were a mermaid/merman?, cause i was singing a song to a sims that in the water to leave the dangerous area but than i got a nofi said that they discovered that i'm a mermaid and i try so hard to not have them to know >.<. I honeslty thought Sea shanties will have a options for you to sing to have someone to forget that you are one

Just adding this for others and if it helps, but I made the mistake of performing the spell before the event triggered. I had to wait for the spell to wear off or undo the spell before it would let me intimate the contract. So, the sea witch does need to be able to perform the desired spell to perform the interaction.

The only thing I can think of that might be missing are more objects for merfolk to interact with in the water, but I still haven’t done everything I can in the water yet. Still, this YouTube video could be a good example of something… I wouldn’t say that I want merchildren playing with a pufferfish like this, imagine the kinds of toys and games merfolk might be inspired to create from watching dolphins. hello. this revamped mod is great, I can't stop playing it! however I think I may have run into a tiny issue: whenever my sea witch Sim uses the heartstopper elixir on another Sim, it effects them both and my sea witch loses all romantic relationship with their husband. I dunno if there's a conflicting mod or anything. has anyone else noticed this or had the same issue?

I did have my sea witch get affected by the heartstopper potion, but there was a contract involved. If I recall, he experienced the affect of his own potion when the event from initiating the contract timed out. Honestly, I just had him brew a heartwarmer potion and undid the effect. I kinda saw it as the contract backfiring on the sea witch because he didn’t uphold his end of the bargain. I did a lot of experimenting, so I think I saved over that save.

The child mermaid sims are kinda glitchy whenever I have them go in the water, sometimes their tails disappear or appear and a completely different tail than what I chose, the there’s no way to customize their mermaid form, but otherwise everything is good

yeah I did the heart warmer potion thing to fix it. however it's happened twice and each time I've had to rebuild the Romantic relationship with their husband each time. it's just a bit annoying having to re do stuff haha

How do I get my sims to use their mermaid forms in the hot springs? I get an option for 'hide mermaid form' but my sim isn't in her mermaid form.

hi, my sim is a sea witch and created and contract and had the sim to sign to be changed into a mermaid. Now that i have the elixir ready and suspend the contract over the cauldron, i don't have the option to initiate the contract fulfillment. Am i doing something wrong?

Wish I could give more info. I’m still discovering everything that the mod does. All I know for sure is that, when the potion backfired, only my sea witch was affected and it happened after failing the event to initiate the contract. I was experimenting, and I let the timer run out.

Is that the only instance you’ve had with child mermaids losing or changing tails? I’ve never encountered this issue in testing, but I don’t think I tested sims from other households. What exactly happens and what are the circumstances that seem to cause this bug?

I’m aware of this issue and will be hopefully fixing it in the next update. The webbed fingers have some kind of mesh issue and there’s a problem with the ankle seams, but what is the dress issue? I don’t think I’ve seen anything about that.

I’ll take a look at the heartstopper potion. The drink effects might have been incorrectly attached to the throw interaction.

Not as of right now. There may be a method added in the future, but for now the only way to remove a weakness is with the cheat included in the mod.

That’s the harpy voice weakness! Sims with that weakness lose their beautiful voice, but they can screech at enemies to knock them out. :)

Is there anything else you can tell me about the circumstances that cause the tails to disappear or change? Are they sims in your household? Is it when changing lots? Or reloading a save? Anything more would be very helpful. :)

The NPC sea witches won’t autonomously create or form contracts, but once your sim finds a deep sea conch from diving deeper and they read about it while studying the mythology books, they can use it to summon an existing sea witch at the cauldron and will be able to start the contract process from the receiving side. :)

There should be an interaction available while your sim is in the hot spring. If you click on the sim, it should be on the second or third page of the main pie menu. This also applies to hot tubs.

I noticed this too. The glitch happens all the time when they try to swim like adults. I managed to find some work arounds though.

If you are playing the household, have them hide their mermadic form than make them reveal it.

A quality of life improvement might be the ability to to hide and reveal mermaid forms with children outside the household, and I think the ability to pick their tail when they aren’t played would be helpful.

I did figure out that merchildren will appear in the tail you want them to have if you have them hide their mermaid form before switching households and create an outfit in CAS so they look like they are in their mermaid form while hiding their mermaid form. The merchildren will be perpetually confident, but it helps to make them look the way you want them too while they aren’t in the active household.

I just want to say a HUGE thank you for this mod! Its so fun! Brings mermaids justice and makes them occult instead of glorified swimsuits <3 could you also please add proper tombstone for them (all occult have unique except mermaids) and hmm I love the manipulation spell but It'd be fun to have it be usable on more stuff, like small items too! And perhaps for small inventory items it can float towards sim and they can pick it up hehe. Thanks again!!

I’ve been scouring the internet for mods to further explore the curiosity of young merfolk. I can’t find anything that does what I’m looking for. Considered pose packs, but honestly, most pose packs don’t work for merchildren.

you have to search for it in human debris in the ocean with a new interaction, you might find the fork and many other objects that you can use when available in your inventory!

Anyone else having an issue with the cheats pie menu not showing up? I've removed every mod that alters mermaid abilities and stuff like suggested. I've tried moving all the mod files to the main mod folder instead of an organized subfolder. I've done it all! And still no cheat menu.

The cauldron sometimes needs a break. You can only brew so many potions so quickly.

I wish I knew. I know that spells, potions, and certain deals are only possible under certain conditions. Like, if you cast Poseidon’s Luck, you have to wait for the spell to wear off before casting the spell again. Although, I never had an issue with the soul payment method. It just requires a sim to have an urn or acquire one. If a sim already lost the ability to love, you can’t exactly take what isn’t there to take… idk.

Another crazy idea, the Debug items in build mode don’t have any interactions and are purely decorative, but there are quite a few interesting island living debug items… I wonder if there’s more that can be done with those items?

Hey, i redownloaded it again last night and deleted the old save and made a new one, I'm unsure reading the books helps just yet because i'm a bit scared it'll glitch out my game again but I will try when I get home from work today. I'm having an issue where its not allowing me to collect payment from sims for contracts, the bubble will say I haven't completed the spell and cant collect. Not even when I add sim to my house am I able to completed the contract

The event activates, I complete the spell then the event ends and the contract will show that the spell has been performed and awaiting payment. But the option to collect payment will always stayed greyed out saying that the spell hasn't been performed.

Bug Report: The child sim I'm currently playing to test this mod has an issue whenever he comes out of the water. His tail will turn to legs right before he reaches the shore. Then he does a flip in the water, his legs turn back into a tail, and he continues walking on land like he still has legs. Also he can't use the bathtub unless he's hiding his tail. Those little bugs aside, I am REALLY enjoying this mod. I subbed to you just because I couldn't wait till March to play with it. Thank you :)

I’ve been doing a lot with my merchildren, and I do know of a few mods that stabilize the merchildren. Child Mers seem to be afflicted with similar bugs hybrid occults experience.

These mods stabilize the merchildren and will help with most bugs. After using these mods, I stopped having random outfits get generated, they stopped walking on water when they try to swim like adults, and the MC Command Center will allow you to hide and reveal the child’s merform whether or not they are in the active household. If you hide and reveal the child’s merform, it helps to make their selected tail appear if it isn’t showing correctly.

From what I can tell, the bugs involve creating hybrids. I’m not using the mod to create hybrids, and for some reason, it does work for the merchildren still.

The forced transformation with the sprinkler is a little weird it makes my sim do it twice and when I use the evaporate ability it gives my sim their legs back before they do the evaporate animation and it looks kinda weird. also it does it twice. not a big problem just a bug I noticed.

The Better Exceptions mod can potentially flag certain files in my mods as being “bad tuning”, but this is usually a harmless discrepancy or it’s because of a custom enum value that may not be recognized by the BE mod, which makes it think the tuning is incorrect. Either way, these are perfectly fine to ignore.

If you have UI Cheats Extension in your mods folder by weerbesu. I highly suggest going to his patreon to update the UI Cheats mod due to the patch. Also, review any big mods you may have as the patch had a lot of modders updating their mods.

I don’t think I was able to figure out the exact cause of the bug I’m experiencing, but I was able to confirm that things sorta work fine at the very beginning of a new save and if I go back far enough to an older save, like the back up saves before the infants update. In particular, the bug is essentially a limited selection of mermadic abilities from this mod. The only abilities I can still use on other sims are heat up, electro shock, and electro strike. I can manipulate current if a sim is swimming, and I have a solid selection of abilities that can be used when selecting my sim. If I select a plumbing object, abilities work… the biggest problem is using abilities on other sims… a lot of options are gone.

At first, I thought it happened when I traveled to new lots, then I thought it was my spellcaster sea witch using spells, then I thought maybe something was wrong with my older saves… at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if I create a fresh new save or go back to an older save… everything new that I start to do ends up with the bug happening again.

As for what I’ve been doing, I’ve used the Sea Witches Cauldron to Capture the Voice of merfolk without them signing a contract. And the most heavily afflicted sims interacted with the sea witch I used to take the voice of other merfolk. I mean weirder things have happened with mods, and I’ve read some strange situations with even stranger causes.

After thinking about it for some time… the biggest change I’ve noticed is the UI with selecting interactions with other sims… maybe the abilities are working, but the option in the interactions isn’t showing? The Occult Preference Interactions are also visibly out of place… the interaction menu has sub categories to the different interactions like: Friendly, Mean, Funny, and Mischief… I’m wondering if that affected the mods in some way?

Been having the same issue. The abilities I can use work as they are supposed to, but my biggest problem has been being able to use the abilities. The other problem I noticed is the Frostify ability causes sims to be covered in red and white squares with question marks. There’s definitely a problem with mermadic abilities, and I know starting a new save and removing mods outside of Spinning Plumbobs Mods have not fixed anything. I mean, with new saves and older saves, I can temporarily get things working but it doesn’t last very long.

I took screenshots, and I'll share them in a PM since I can't attach a picture to my comment. Apparently, merfolk can use all their abilities on a sim that isn't a mermaid or merman. The limitation for abilities is only for merfolk that try to use their abilities on other merfolk. I updated all my mods, repaired the game and did everything I could think of.

Hey Trey, I love this mod. Thank you for your hard work, first of all. My mermaid though can sleep on the bed or under seawater however energy level just keeps decreasing when she starts sleeping when the energy counter is red. Moreover, the sleep timer is not synced with the energy counter so she still sleeps hours after her energy is full. When she does though, the counter then starts decreasing as if she is awake and using energy. When the sleep timer is up, she ends up with 0 energy. I think these bugs started when I added the motion of the ocean (perk). Could you take a look into fixing them?

It's a great mod; mermaids are way cooler now. However, I'm experiencing problems with the Sea witch. It says I could find Poseidon's Grimoire while Diving Depper in the ocean but I don't get it. Got about a dozen or so of those conch shells though, but those I can't use to blow over the cauldron. I've tried looking for the grimoire in the Building objects section but it's not there either (all other objects related to this mod seem to be there though). And I can definitely see the file for the grimoire in the Mods! So I don't know if I'm doing wrong or something isn't working right.

its by chance when diving deeper. Sometimes i'll be getting the book more times than the conch. For BuildBuy, have the debug filter on. Thats how you'll find the book.

I've tried every way possible to find the object to no avail. I did manage however to give the grimoire to my Sims but only by using the Mermaid's Cheats. And still nothing with blowing the conch unfortunately :( . Thank you for your reply! :)

So, with a game repair and the newest version of the mod. Everything is almost back to normal. I still can’t seem to use mermadic abilities on other merfolk. That being said, the most heavily afflicted merfolk are the ones I cheated the abilities with. I did learn that the Silver Atlantica Tail from the Atlantica CC is bugged. Only the silver tail and merchildren can’t use that tail. All other tails work fine.

I mean, I can give them the Silver Tail in CAS, but the Conflict is with how Child Merfolk in the Expanded Mermaid Mod choose their tail. When I try to select the Silver Tail it doesn’t change their tail in the water. MCCC is flagging that tail as bad cc.

So, the options for using abilities are available, but it seems that my merfolk are now immune to certain abilities because they took a perk. Kinda wish I could go back and remove some perks. I really enjoyed using the Hydroblast ability to force a transformation. Le sigh, I’m at least happy everything is appearing like before. The only other thing getting a last exception is when I try to use the humanity spell on occults that we’re glitched. Any occults that aren’t merfolk that I turn into Sea Witches run into some bugs where I can’t turn them into humans, merfolk, or anything else. Might be something related to why hybrids bug. I don’t expect a fix for that, but I’m definitely going to make sure my Sea Witches are merfolk. It just works better. So far, I’ve only tried to make spellcasters sea witches. Damion’s bugs were something else entirely. I haven’t checked, but the only other thing that MCCC seems to have caught is the Silver Atlantica Tail for Child Merfolk…

After creating a Sea Witch to be the NPC Sea Witch, you can make a deal to become a mermaid. The mod doesn't alter genetics. So, it depends if they're born one or not.

Crazy idea! What if restless fin’s syndrome weakness resulted in a forced transformation after the “walking on daggers” moodlet runs out! Right now, the moodlet goes away over time, but it just seems like it would be cool if merfolk taking a human form was more temporary with that weakness. I know that the Sensitive Scales Weakness has that affect when merfolk get wet. That’s nice for an H20 theme, but it’s not the same as having a time limit for shapeshifting. It would definitely make things more interesting for merfolk that go on land too long.

Was doing some research regarding tropes and contracts. There’s a trope called a Geas. Pronounced “Gesh.” “A geas usually takes the form of either a command or a prohibition: "You shall do this," or "You shall not do this," occasionally followed with a "Or this will happen". In practical terms, the geas may be prophetic, bringing about its own fulfillment either through manipulation of cosmic events or by simply instilling into the subject a compulsion which he cannot resist. If the geas can be broken, and is, doing so typically brings about the death of the subject, either directly or by cosmic retribution.” -TV Trsopes I don’t know if any of this is possible with a mod, but a similar thing would probably work really well with a contract signed with a sea witch. Currently, I can’t think of specific things this could be used for but, it does seem pretty simple. You must do this or there will be consequences. You can’t do this or there will be consequences. It’s a fairly straightforward and simple set of conditions. I just can’t think of something that a sim must do or avoid. Also, I can’t think of a particular benefit that would come with a Geas. After all, part of how a Geas works is it empowers the individual as long as they do, or avoid, whatever makes up the conditions that come with said Geas.

Just thought the concept was interesting and could be a part of how contracts work. Something with more long term effects. Most of the “benefits” of a contract are temporary.

Hi! I really love this mod, but I'm having a problem with the recipes used on the stove. Whenever I click on one of the recipes, the pie menu just disappears and nothing else happens. Hi! I think the recent patch/expansion has messed with this mod. It's still usable, there's just this distorted event timer that won't go away and I've been getting last exceptions/T-poses when trying to use some of the spells. Nothing game breaking though

Click on your sim, go to Kelpie and then choose what their kelpie form looks like. Then you can click again and select "Hide Kelpie Form" and that will take it off them

I know there are some recipes for merfolk products, but something I would love to see are food recipes that use the different seaweed. Even though my merfolk have all different kinds of kelp, they can’t use any of it to prepare a meal with the simple living lot challenge. Aside from that, I believe Child Merfolk can’t use the white tail from the Atlantica Set and Sea Witch Spells that turn occults into humans are bugged. There might be something that is specifically wrong with the spells sea witch’s cast to change life states, the potions work fine. For Child Merfolk, I’d love to see them swim like the adults. There’s an interaction that allows adults and teens to coach swimming. Would absolutely love to see the merchildren swim like their parents after they coach them.

I think it’s called the Humanity Spell… it could have acted up for me because I assumed it worked for non-aquatic occults like Spellcasters, Vampires, and Werewolves. Considering that Kelpies come with the mod, it might work better on them. I don’t know. 🤷🏼‍♂️

However, I have one suggestion. The updated features are fantastic, of course, but the management of Tidal Energy, which existed from earlier versions, is still difficult. This function forces sim to settle around the ocean. Therefore, I hope that characteristics and abilities that are easy to manage will be added. I want to travel to more areas with this attractive mermaid sim. It's hard to constantly subscribe because I'm still a student, but I want to be supportive whenever I need it. Hi, when using this mod the Kelpie sim doesn't change into his Kelpie form when he turns into a Kelpie. He keeps his human form when he transforms into a Kelpie. Any idea why this might be? before the update they transformed fine when it was the old fish head Kelpie form x

I'm gonna see if I can track down a mod that does this, but for my story I write, most of my merfolk do not have a human form. So, what I do is I use MCCC to make them move around on land in their mermadic form while using other cc to simulate an underwater environment. Similar to how children can have their tails added to them in CAS, I'd love to be able to give my merfolk that I don't want to have a human form their tails too. The swimwear is extremely limited when it comes to outfits, a max of 5, and it generally feels extremely limiting. I think that teen to adult options for tails in their human form similar to child merfolk would definitely accomplish what I have in mind, and because it's something I can do in CAS, I could update as needed. I don't know if townies will use this however, so it might not work. If I need to, I can continue to do things the way I have been.

I suggest some for your next mermaid update: - gardering algae in a pool (or more water spots) - algae deco objects - call a group of mermaids - mermaids diving graphics - more and better sea animal interactions - give mermaid algae others to eat (under some conditions?) - new and better island to travel? (maybe this is too much hahaha) - Sing for attract human sims in water ? (Sorry if this is too much, mermaid are my favorite mod/pack hahaha)

I leveled up my sea witch skills, can make contracts and have them sign, but fulfill contract is always greyed out. When I hover over it it says "there's already and active event happening!" but it always says this. I even started a fresh game, uninstalled and reinstalled all the mods, the same thing happens. I don't know if there is a conflict or I am doing something wrong, but everything else works.

Initiate contract fulfillment is greyed out after they sign and I put it back up on the cauldron.

Not to sound greedy, but in volume 2 of the mermaid mythology series they mention harpies... are we getting harpies at some point? 👀

Guys, is there any cheat code to chance NPC to mermaids, sea witch or Kelpies/aquatic sims??? In order to spice the game! Byh the way Spinning you are THE BEST !!

Heyy! Hope somebody can help me, here’s my problem: my sim learned the recipe to make sea bath salt but every time I try to make it on the stove, nothing happens :(( I don’t have the older version so the problem isn’t about duplicated files that messes some things up Does anyone know how to fix this?
