Adderbane

There was a lot to love in this episode; between the adorable young versions, and the incredible amount of backstory and characterization. Getting to see the key formative experiences of the Mane 6 (not sure if you've seen that term before, but the MLP fandom is never going to pass up a good horse pun) gives a lot of insight into how they became who they are; weaving them all together like that was a nice bonus. Furthermore, we get our first look at the parents of one of the Mane 6; Twilight Velvet (who appears to be based on the original Gen 1 Twilight Sparkle from the 80's) and Night Light. I myself also particularly liked the little look at the Sun Celebration ceremony. It gives a bit of context for the pseudo-religious awe the ponies seem to have for Celestia, as well as Twilight Sparkle's own slight obsession. Haven't seen a good candidate for Background Pony of the Week in these two epsiodes. Maybe the next one that I'll watch tomorrow.

I've been waiting for this episode because I knew you'd love it. Insane amount of world building. The Mane Six are all connected in more ways than they knew. We also got to see Twilight's parents, Pinkie's parents, and Applejack's... aunt and uncle. Wonder when and if we'll see more parent ponies. Also digging that you found Lyra Heartstrings to be cool. She has my favorite background pony design.

And here is the best episode of the first season. Remember how i said winter wrap up sold me on the show. Well this one took me beyond sold to becoming a fanatic.

of the entire series I love this one so much because at this point we know the characters but this this right here showed how such small things can have such a major connection. not gonna spoil it but this is why dash is best pony..... wait that's just an opinion never mind
