I didn't catch many meteors but its still interesting none the less. (most of the streaks are satellites)

the first few images were me using mars to set the focus. then I swing aground and look in the direction of the milky way and remotely take photos with 15 second exposures. I did widen the aperture a few times to let in more light. after taking photos for a half hour I moved the camera to look towards the Pleiades which were near the horizon (you can see car headlights in some of thees photos.)

Great work Cody, just let me know if you ever need any astrophotography tips, suggestions on gear, settings, etc.

Oh I could sure pick you brain on that one. Possible topic if you have me back on your show ? Right now I’d settle for how do you get the camera focused if you don’t have anything to focus on? I used mars but since it is pretty much a point I couldn’t get it perfect.

Your technique for focus is exactly right. Find the brightest star you can, take a bunch of pictures of it with short exposures until you think you're happy with the focus. The shoot longer exposures.

my canon rebel has a feature where you can zoom the EVF to focus before taking the shot. My old corneas are 20/500 or something and even with glasses it's tough to focus so i'm leaning on this feature more each year.
