I wonder if youtube would send you another silver play button if you got to 100k subscribers on the backup channel, you're already halfway there.

Sorry, not a chemistry guy: why the edta in the bucket at the end?

Anonymous

Suitable content in my opinion! Amazing to see all that mercury.

CodysLab

It binds to heavy metals in solution rendering insoluble and safe

Anonymous

haha, when I saw the teaser in the previous video I immediately wondered how you intended to balance yourself. I see you didn't really have any plan ;) It's like standing up on a board the size of your feet, it's tippy :)

Anonymous

at the current rate of about 15-20 subscribers a minute, you should cross 100k subs on the backup channel within 2 days.

Anonymous

Huge fan that reddit has your back. Thread about your main channel is at 32k upvotes. Impressive!

Anonymous

Very cool. I hope YT gets their stuff together soon!

Anonymous

insanely curious if you can get a siphon going in a 2 liter bottle of mercury

Anonymous

I watched on YT, not my safari browser.. It’s sad what YT are doing, why would they change their stuff so much?

Anonymous

This was AWESOME!!! :D And.. +1 to the siphon question.

Anonymous

I was so nervous and happy watching this video!

Anonymous

this is so cool haha

Anonymous

This made my day!

Hey do you think you could float a full sized blacksmiths anvil in that tub?

Anonymous

And if by chance you do look into it when draining the tub it would be cool if you could siphon it out into a tub or would that be dangerous with the mercury version of "water hammer"?

Zorn

The pouring sounds incredibly weird!

Zorn

So when you "stand" and are neither sinking nor floating upwards, the mercury pushes as much against your soles as your weight? Does it then feel as strong as solid ground pushing against your soles?

Have you seen my private message regarding Smart Resampling yet here on Patreon?

Anonymous

You need a forklift lol

CodysLab

yeah I have, not before working on this though. I think I can try that for the final version.

Anonymous

that is the coolest thing, I know TAOFLEDERMAUS did a video on it explaining what might happen if you did try this, but of course he couldn't actually tell you what happened because he didn't actually do it. I was just wondering if you just always wanted to do this or if you got the idea from him.

CodysLab

Actually I got the idea from an old NOVA episode about china, where they talked about a guy that liked the liquid metal so much that he slepped on a bed made of it. If anything TAOFLEDERMAUS's video delayed me trying it for at least a year.

I love that Pikachu hoodie!

Anonymous

Wow. Absolutely incredible. I wondered about this years ago, and I figured a person would only sink in to the knee or so, but to see it actually done... astounding.

Anonymous

Awesome! Can you float on mercury with a wet suit? When lying down you should hardly sink in.

My daughters are duly impressed. Was that regular thread tape on the flasks or something else?
