Upcoming Minor Continuity Changes (Minor Spoilers, NSFW) (Patreon)

Hi all! Before we release the new Beta Build to our Beta Tester Tier, I wanted to share three minor things we've changed in the game's continuity. This way they (hopefully) won't cause too much confusion when playing through the newest chapter!

1. Wondrous Walter's Design:

At the end of Chapter 3, you may recall that the legendary Wondrous Walter showed up to watch Jessie's performance. Our original design had him looking a bit more villainous than intended, and more like a magician than a Vaudevillean. We updated his disposition to seem a bit more friendly, and changed his outfit to more closely match period pieces worn by his contemporary Harry Lauder. Chat was quite enthusiastic that we give him a pompadour as well, so it stuck!

2. The Monkey's Name & Design:

The keen eyed among you may notice that Wondrous Walter's monkey, formerly known as "Miss Martha," now has a peculiar hat. We couldn't resist giving the monkey a new act when we learned about a contemporaneous chimpanzee. So Miss Martha now has the stage name of "Little Nap" ; )

3. Bunny Easter Egg:

Nothing goes together better with bunnies than Easter Eggs! But because ██████████████████████████████, we will be moving the Chapter 3 bunny Easter Egg to a different bunny in Chapter 4. Don't worry-- if you have already unlocked this Easter Egg in Chapter 3, it will continue to count toward your total!

In addition to these changes, we've also gone back and made improvements to some existing assets.  A few of these sprites date back to the very first demo and are some of the oldest sprites in the game. They definitely benefited from a touch-up, like this example here:

The dress was hiding some anatomical errors that we were finally able to fix as prep work for new sprite alternates. Looking much better proportioned now!

Hope you enjoyed this behind the scenes peek! We strive to balance working on new content with bringing existing content in line with our current standards as the game grows and improves, especially as the game's release date comes nearer. In addition to the above, we've been pushing forward with lots of new content, some sketches of which Watsup has already posted over on his Patreon (spoilers!).
