“I know that for you it feels as if it’s been many days that we’ve been doing this, and right now I’d like you to recall that some time ago I asked you to think about the skills that you are most confident about, the things that you know you do very well, the things that are the first things you think of when you say you want to serve me.

“And I asked you to set those skills aside for a little while, to forget about them so that you could concentrate on a different type of skill, the kind that you’re not sure if they’re useful, or you’re less confident in your ability to do them, the things that you might not think of right away when you think about serving me.

“And even though you haven’t been consciously thinking about any of those things at all while we’ve been brainwashing you, I know that unconsciously some part of you has been ticking away at them - both in hiding the first set and also cataloging the second set.

“And I think you’ll find that now it’s so simple, maybe not easy, but definitely simple, to remember those things, and to create that hierarchy in your mind of, let’s call them, primary skills and secondary skills. And from now on, when you have the time, you can let your mind ponder those skills, and perhaps even plan how you’d tell me about them if I were to ask you to serve me.”

It’s true, you hadn’t remembered at all the moment on the train when Lee had told you to just forget about your skills. And not once since then had you thought about them or about the second group of skills, the ones that you weren’t quite as confident in as the first.

But now, with that moment returned to you, you’re dazzled by how many things that your unconscious mind has compiled for you, and you know that soon you’ll be eagerly listing them out so that you can share them with Lee.

What should happen next?

  1. How did this start?
  2. I don’t want to remember.
  3. I never want to remember.
  4. I want to keep kneeling.
