You were spot on with your interpretation of Ukai’s comment about how Hinata and Kageyama having just met being “cruel.” But let me add another layer to it. They just met, and they’re in high school which lasts three years. Ukai says it’s cruel because they’ll only have three years to play together like this. They would never get the chance for more time like childhood friends would or even if they went to junior high together. Their time was basically cut short simply because they hadn’t met sooner. Like they had missed something amazing just by not knowing each other. And that’s cruel because these will probably be their most beautiful and precious memories. After high school, who knows what will happen, who knows where people will go who they will become. And it’s cruel that the universe brought these two together for such a short time, a period of their lives that would change them forever.

asahis scream was a game changer for me, i think it was the first scene that made me cry in the series, now i cry with almost every episode even though this is like my 12th rewatch😭lol, i keep saying this but i'm so excited for future episodes, it just gets better and better

It’s becoming a surprising but lovable strength of this series. I expected the captain to be one dimensional, but I can now see they’re holding back. Every character is crafter sooo thoroughly but they do a great job at revealing the layers bit by bit—yet keep you hooked!

I love PD's interpretation of the opening and how it relates to the current situation with the Karasuno team. I've watched and rewatched Haikyuu many times and this is the first time someone has made this connection before!

What Ukai says "Hijoudana~" can be translated as "Extraordinary." I think the manga goes for "How odd" or "That's odd."
