oh we're WELL FED!! watching it right away🕺

Rach

I'm surprised Blaire didn't notice the other change in the opening lol

Liv

Don’t binge read all the manga, NOT GOOD FOR MENTAL HEALTH

Liv

I get upset sometimes (this is entirely subjective, jjk is still great art) that it’s all plot and zero character development, it feels empty at certain times like I am hanging onto what plot point happens next, the author doesn’t give closure or not enough reaction to characters death more than a line or two bc the author throws so much shit at them that it’s move on to the next bad guy there’s no room to breathe or feel it IM NOT SAYING THIS IS A BAD THING BUT I FEEL ITS A SHAME BC I LIKE THEM SO MUCH AND IT MAKES ME SAD and i think im not built for the type of media that goes this more hard realistic version, no time to grieve and having characters’ potential cut short

one of the things I noticed is that when they showed who Kamo was he also had the same stitches that geto also has and then he proceeds to say that was one of the many names he’s had which leads me to believe that kamo isn’t the one inside geto, also the fact that he’s made pacts with other sorcerers thru thousand of years believes me to think that something else is inside geto 🫣 I’m sure you guys have probably picked up on this! Side note: Season 3 has been announced! it’ll cover the next arc “The culling games”

Julianne

I see what you mean, but I think that's WHY JJK S2 animated was so successful. The entire Shibuya Incident has been one long held breath of build up and anticipation. It was all go go go and the culling game arc is the next step up. That lack of room to breath is how they get you to feel more and more helpless in all of this. The emotional build up is like, agonizing. But yeah, we got to sit with the characters more in s1. I think I don't mind as much bc I found the directing and entire excection of this season so freaking excellent that I couldn't get over how good it was.

Darkqueen

This season was so very good. The animation brought the manga to life in a way that I couldn't envision when I was reading. With that being said, I don't think you guys should read the manga and instead, just wait for season 3. I started reading the manga at the end of season 1 and have read all of season 2 and part of what is to come in season 3. This manga has so much going on, that for me I noticed that I only remembered the really big events like Gojo being sealed and Nanami taking the ultimate L. I even completely forgot about the sukuna vs mahoraga extravaganza. Also, in my experience for this season, the initial reaction to what is happening isn't as impactful because you already knew what was to come. So that's my two cents on reading the manga. I have personally stopped so that I can go in blind for the future seasons.

Liv

Don’t read the manga yet, you’ll feel compelled to binge read and then you’ll just be an emotional wreck for weeks ☠️

this arc leaves a feeling of emptiness and dissatisfaction but also, THE FRIKIN URGE FOR ANSWERS GODDAMN😭 so your reaction is very understandable. answering one of your questions, the age of the brain parasite hasn’t been stated yet but he is at the very least a 1000 years old, he was in the time period where sukuna was alive (heian era, 1000 years ago), the 150 year old thing was just his time being kamo noritoshi and where sorcerers acknowledged his existence because of what he did to chosos mom, which from what we learned in this episode, was not a silly random crime, it was part of the bigger picture that this fucker has been building since the very beginning (excuse my language, i hate him for playing with getos body🧎) pd you're so right about this story being a biiiig plot, we barely get any happiness or bonding moments from it, i feel like that helps with pacing a lot but at the same time it makes you suffer nonstop😭 i can complain but still this is one of my favorite pieces of media lol. now, you're asking the wrong person to retain you from reading the manga, i watched jjk since the 1st episode aired because a friend said was good, i started reading the manga after episode 3 aired cause i really liked nobara as a female character and she gave me BIG sapphic vibes with her introduction, i literally couldn't wait a WEEK to get to know her more lol😭 no self control whatsoever so, i support the idea of reading it, i still need to know your thoughts on everything tho. there's anime content creators that do manga reading sessions on twitch or youtube, that could be an option if you really can't resist reading but you still want to share your journey with us, if you don't then that's ok too! this season was so much fun with ya'll, sad asf but i enjoyed it a lot! one of my highlights has to be the "wtf" that you guys said in unison when toji came back😭 i'll never forget that. so excited to see which anime will take jjks place as well!!

what's the most realistic and hateful part of JJK, is how society works. Like they're not just fighting evil and bad guys and cursed spirits. The humans and society are working against us. The higher ups' political move at the end is so miserable and dirty and gross, I hate them. Fell swoop got rid of they're biggest political enemy, consolidated power, all for what? They're just sitting on their high horses uninvolved. If the main crew fail to fix the situation, society is just flat-out over and their little power struggles will be for naught anyways. But they're just so power hungry and short sighted.

Julianne

It also make me sad too. It's so depressing that I have no reason to follow the manga actually, bc it feels like what's the endgame, what's the point? That's why I appreciate the anime experience so much bc I get to be in awe of the execution and animation/directing/sound design and also feel the hype of simulcast-watching with the rest of the world. It brings some positives to the experience rather than just binging the plot bc I need to know. Honestly if this was just the manga, I probably would have dropped it bc it's so repressed and like og-geto said -- there's no end in sight, what's the driving reason behind all this desperation and loss? It feels like a never ending upward climb with no end in sight.

i forgot to mention, the author already confirmed that the manga is coming to an end this year👀 so yeah, this is not going to be a naruto or one piece length type of series

Mystical Snow

Though I haven’t read the manga myself, I would say there is definitely merit in reading it at some point. When it comes to anime and their source content, it’s a very different experience that I personally feel like you should experience to really get the whole scope of the series. Because some things translate well and some get lost in translation. If you’d rather be surprised and want a more “genuine” experience, don’t read the manga (or at least read the manga after you watch the season). If you want a more analytical and enriching experience, do read it. Whatever experience you want to have. Some prefer not knowing anything and some want to know everything to truly pick through and appreciate the story. Think of it as watching your favorite show twice (which everyone should do btw). Once for the experience, and twice to understand the experience.

tamkan

if you're going to read the manga... be sure to take some breaks in between chapters.. it's going to hurt you bad lol

formoftherapy

I just mentally fell to my knees at that last line. I did not know this is why I rebinge everything I watch, but you helped me understand myself better as a person just now.

Serena

this entire season had me on the edge of my seat every freakin episode. also with my fav characters being nanami, gojo and geto its not looking too good for me folks

Serena

also in case ur looking for a dark show to replace jjk: - oshi no ko (idk if u can really categorize it as dark or light but it deals with some heavy stuff and its an anime about idols so hearing ur thoughts would be very interesting) - banana fish (i know u said u read the manga but i would looove for u to check out thr anime aswell its so good) - chainsaw man (similiar to jjk but also not? just a lot of insane shit ) also i was wondering if yall would ever consider checking out the netflix one piece livr action? maybe as an exclusive like with alice in borderland. bc even if you've never watched the og the livr action is insanely good and entertaining. i was totally new to one piece but that show made me so happy and also cry a lot i love it so much and im sure you would too.

Mystical Snow

I’m glad I could give you an epiphany of some sort! It’s always a different type of feeling it comes to self realization 😊

Madi

If you read the manga, if it’s possible I’d love a video series where you react to reading it! Or even a discussion about each volume when you finish it! Btw, maybe spoiler? You were kinda on the mark about what yuji is doing in the end

Winter Rian ~

I kinda would be interested in a reaction to Solo Leveling. It FINALLY got it's adaption after so many years and it's currently airing. A very popular and successful Webtoon/web novel
