i absolutely love lee dohyun's character. he can seem like a heartless asshole to a lot of people but he's extremely logical and smart, he is the perfect leader for all of them

I loved the scene with the gangster throwing away the child predator, I think it was beautiful how it was shown, like the idea was that monster are outside and humans inside the building. He did not consider the predator as a human being but a monster and threw him out ut the soldier and the schoolgirl were humans so they were brought back inside. BUT the moment where he wanted to lock himself outside because he considers himself to be a monster as well, like how he ask the swordsman "why" like "why would you stop me/accept me, I'm a monster". It was just really beautiful to me. BTW the lady became a fetus as simple as that. The firefighter said that dohyun knew there was a monster (he really knew, the camera caught the monster before the camera was turned) because when he talked about going to the basement, he kind of knew she would go herself.

as someone noted, the lady became a fetus. I think the idea was that her maternal desire/desperation to not hurt those kids was so strong. and that’s why i imagine they just left her alone, though she fully turned. if monsters retain some sentience, some essense of their human self, based on the human’s greatest desire, then it seems fair that she doesn’t present much of a threat, because she ended up turning into something that wouldn’t want to hurt them. AND yes, I totally agree with do hyun’s character, though i think the danger with being so emotionless (at least in everyone’s perception) is that it could lead to people turning against him. just given how utterly emotional some of the others in the apartment seem to be, if too many fail to see the logic behind his actions, they might stop following his lead

the child murderer getting what he deserves is definitely one of the most satisfying scenes i've seen in any kdrama

I agree that Dohyun is really smart, but I don't necessarily agree that the others are being more emotional. After all, prioritizing saving the kids can be a very rational answer depending on your end goal, which may not be SURVIVING AT ALL COSTS. Depending on your moral values, through rational analysis you can reach the conclusion that saving the kids is the correct answer. We also have examples in the real world, were while there is no apocalypse, we do have situations of life and death, like wars, where we have determined certain actions as war crimes for example.

So I definitely think that weird guy was killing the children because earlier in the season when they found the guy who had hung himself he said something like “he’s been dead for a least a few days” or something like that. How else would he know that unless he’d been dealing with dead bodies prior. But that’s just my hot take.

the creepy dude is both a pedophile and a murderer. I don't know if they already alluded to the murder or if they mention it in a later episode. Also I think the court scene was the gangster memory from the dude being set free when he burnt his face. Unless I just did not realize that the court guy and the pedo were the same person but I thought it looked like two different people. What I've noticed about this show is that it gives you pieces of information each episode and grows instead of telling you immediately in one episode.

The women that turned into a baby isn’t a harmful monster. You turn into your deepest desire and hers was her baby. Just like that one monster with the giant hand that grabbed the gangster dude when they were on the mission to get the kids and dude in the wheel chair. His diary that they were reading off stated that he wished he could have held onto his son a little longer and the monster wouldn’t have snatched him. He blamed himself for his sons death and then turned him. His desire was to hold onto his son and that’s why he turned into a monster with long arms that’s could grab you.

2021-10-26 22:00:04 Ahh the pedo murderer's death was so satisfying~ I know I said I wished they didn't change the "gangster's" personality in an earlier comment, but watching this again reminded me of how I actually enjoy both versions regardless. Also, I love all the scenes they shot in the little cemetery they made in the building. There's just something so calming & beautiful in that room like a safe space in the midst of all the shit that's happening outside of it.
