But unfortunately for Laurie, using potions or anything related to magic always had consequences. She hadn’t noticed, but the old woman had been waiting for her soul to finally darken itself just enough. Sin and pleasure tainted one’s soul, and Laurie had done the unthinkable to steal another person’s wealth. She had originally been a pure-hearted woman, yet her desires got the better of her.

Unfortunately, the young girl hadn’t noticed anything strange. She never noticed the strange taste in her food or drinks. But as Laurie started to sway in the hallway, she realized something was happening. She looked back at her mom and was horrified when she began to smirk. “What’s happening to me? I feel … I feel kind of tingly. What’s going on, mom?”

“That’s just the dose finally starting to uproot your soul. I’m surprised it took this long. I guess I’m not very good at brewing this particular potion.” Her current body’s name was “mom” or “Kesha,” but it wasn’t the same woman Laurie knew. It wasn’t the same person who she helped retire. After permanently possessing the mother’s body, the old woman from the magic shop didn’t hesitate to prep her future body. 

Sandra was an elderly woman who wanted a way to escape her pitiful life at her magic shop. People were only interested in toys and cool toys – she could never sell the real deal until she saw the desperation in Laurie’s eyes. She saw a young person wanting to take a risk with a taboo subject like potion brewing, and so Sandra immediately took advantage of her.

Of course, the real Kesha would have never helped her daughter switch bodies with an innocent man to steal her money. That had been the old woman’s doing. Kesha had put up a fight, but after Sandra made her move and slipped into her body using dark magic, she made a temporary home for herself until Laurie’s beautiful body was finally ready for takeover. She was too honest of a person. She was too good of a person.

“Your mother really made me sick, you know,” she told Laurie. “She had so many opportunities to make a decent income, and she never did. It’s a shame that you were just as self-sacrificing as her.” When she saw Laurie’s confused look, she let out an evil laugh. “Yes, I absorbed your mother’s soul and took her body. She’s about ten years younger than my old body, but I was willing to stay in it if it meant taking yours in the end. That perfect physique’s going to be a wonderful restart to my life. I was so happy when you came into my magic shop – you were the perfect little victim for this. And now … it’s time. My own potion’s starting to work.”

Laurie quickly reached out to her purse, but Sandra knew that it was time to act. She quickly got on top of her and held her wrists above her head. Just as she opened her mouth to say something to the person she believed was her mother, Sandra moaned and felt her body shivering. Slowly but surely, her skin began to glow white. Before Laurie could say anything else, the elderly woman’s body melted into a white mist and slid down the young girl’s throat. Inch by inch, her insides absorbed the white mist until Sandra took full control forever.
