Gale sat on her bed, watching as her roommate Wendy applied her makeup in the mirror. She couldn't help but smile as she took in the transformation that had taken place in her friend. Wendy had always been shy, preferring to spend her nights at home rather than go out and socialize. But lately, something had changed. Wendy had become more confident, and she was the one pulling Gale to parties and events.

“I really love your skirt, by the way,” Gale said enthusiastically. She could see the smile on her friends face, but she didn’t respond right away. “He must be really special if you’re dressing up like that. Second date?”

“It’s my first one with him,” she admitted. “I want to leave a good first impression.”

“You’re just going to break his heart,” Gale said. “This is the tenth guy who’s asked you out. I think you should be less picky.”

“Should I?” She said with a knowing smile. Gale knew that most people didn’t deserve Wendy. Her roommate was drop dead gorgeous, and it was a good thing that she had standards. “Well, we’ll see how this one goes. He seemed really witty. He could actually hold a conversation.”

“Reminds me of somebody not too long ago,” Gale teased. She was overjoyed at the transformation she was witnessing in her friend. Wendy was radiant as she put on her blouse and fixed her hair, and Gale could see the excitement in her eyes as she prepared for her date. Wendy was like a different person, and she was so happy for her.

She couldn't quite put her finger on what had changed in Wendy's life, but she was grateful for the impact it had. Wendy was no longer the shy, introverted person she had once been. Instead, she was outgoing and confident, and Gale was proud of her for breaking out of her shell. For her, watching Wendy's transformation had been a joy. She was proud of her friend for embracing her newfound confidence and taking charge of her social life. 

As Wendy gathered her things and headed out the door, Gale wished her friend the best of luck on her date. She knew that Wendy was going to have a great time, and she couldn't wait to hear all about it when she got back.
