“Damn, Vicky, your form’s awesome,” Annie giggled while she playfully punched Lillian’s shoulder. “When did you learn to lift like that? You’ve been holed up at home for ages, and all of a sudden you’re jumping right back into things. I don’t think you’ve actually had a workout routine in your life. You usually just do random shit.”

“I guess you can say that I’m a changed person,” Lillian responded while she wiped the sweat from her face. Her heart was racing, but she knew her new body was going to get used to her routine soon. Her old body was a lot fitter than her current one, but she wasn’t as young. She had a lot of untapped potential with her new body, and she was going to make the most of things.

Lillian was now known as Vicky Meynders. She had been through a lot in the past few months, after a car accident explosion forced her mind into the brain of a young pedestrian. It had been a difficult and traumatic experience for her, and she felt guilty and responsible for taking another person's life.

But she had worked hard to overcome the trauma and had gone through endless therapy. She had come to accept her new life as Vicky. She was determined to make the most of her second chance and live life to the fullest. She felt like she owed the young woman the respect she deserved for losing the life she should’ve been living.

Thankfully, Vicky had always been interested in fitness, and Lillian found it easy to slip into her new life without raising too many questions. She also found that working out helped her to cope with the emotional stress of the accident.

But that didn’t mean Lillian had to keep the young woman’s hobbies. She made adjustments wherever she could. She did things like painting and volunteering in the community, trying to make a positive impact in the lives of others through her second life. Lillian had found a new sense of purpose and had started to build a new life for herself.

Annie clapped her hands, and Lillian caught herself flinching. She’d been lost in her thoughts, and her new best friend was trying to catch her attention. “Hey, can you spot me? Stop ignoring me.”

“Yeah, sorry,” Lillian giggled as she followed the other woman across the gym. She might have had a difficult time accepting her life initially, but having the acceptance and unconditional love of Vicky’s current friends made her life much easier to accept.
