I normally don’t comment much on supernatural but this episode is interesting to me because of the Dean scene at the end. Ever since cas betrayal at the end of 6 Dean has now adopted his old view of seeing things as black and white like you mentioned before sort of 1-3 Dean. Because the many “monsters” that he has partnered with or been close to throughout the years that have turned on him that he thought were different turned out to be “bad” or couldn’t be trusted. Crowley and Ruby betrayed them, Cas turned on them and Sam didn’t trust him and let Lucifer out. So now after all this his view of monster is twisted. Even if they are good eventually “the other shoe will drop”. This applies to Sam too as this episode pointed out he is also a freak” like Amy They let him down so he can no longer trust their judgement. So you get this cold Dean. Because to him it’s just a matter of when not if.

Lol starting to notice the similarities between Psych and Supernatural? 😆

I pretty much agree with everything you guys said in your thought/review. Also I really like that this was a bit of a Sam centric episode...I mean until the end. Anyway as far as Bobby😂It did feel weird that he was so nonchalant about Sam. I'm just now having the idea that maybe because something is kinda always going on with Sam, Bobby was just like 😑😑😑. I mean as much as I love Sam and he's my fav, it's definitely been made clear by Dean, and alluded to with John that the focal point of the worries were for Sam. So then by default, Bobby's worries probably had Sam in mind a lot. And especially with the last two seasons, maybe Bobby's just like🤷🏾‍♀️. 😂😂😂😂. He's just like "well whatever man, if he blows, he blows."😆. No not actually, but I just had that thought, like maybe Bobby is sick of the shenanigans. But anyway, glad you guys somewhat enjoyed the episode. See ya next time.

I really hate this episode so I'm going to skip it. I just do have one comment on Dean's actions. Dean is no longer the same as he was at the beginning - i.e. kill everything supernatural. But he does draw a very simple line. If they've murdered humans, that's it. Especially when, as in this case, it could happen again should the same circumstances arise.  And I know it seems a bit cold, and we would rather he had killed her in the middle of a fight or something, but he really was sorry to have to kill her. He was not angry, just sad, regarding it as his duty.  But it is controversial, and I think the reaction often tends to split along Sam/Dean fan lines. Sam fans really don't like it, Dean fans are prepared to understand it. But I'm still not keen on it, and I don't see the need for this in the writing. To me, the biggest problem is Dean lying to Sam about it, and I feel that this is the writers specifically going out of their way to create Winchester conflict.

So, if it's all the writers fault, how does that justify Jensen's choice to play it the way he did....as the director? No one ever brings that up - and I am so glad it was part of G&J's conversation.

Toasted Toad

Didn't listen to the whole conversation for once. But if Dean was going to do this, then the way Jensen played it seemed right to me. A very regretful Dean. Not angry, just doing what he felt necessary. In the end, they can only do what the writing says. Normally, I don't try to see the writing as a separate thing - I think "Dean did this" or "Sam did that" and analyse their actions. I get involved in the story and just see Sam and Dean and their successes, mistakes, and flaws. But sometimes I see the writers moving them around like chess pieces for certain purposes, which is not good as it takes me out of the story a bit. So in this case, I look at it a bit analytically rather than feeling it a natural part of the story. Part of why I don't like this episode

I don't like that last moment with Dean, either. My only thought is that with Sam's health being so uncertain, untrusting, this "monster" kill is the only thing Dean CAN control. Dean was a cold killer in that moment.

Damn. What a coincidence. Ah that leg snap when they relocated it! Ugh I’ll never forget that noise. Or that feeling either! 🤦🏻‍♂️ Hey Greg, and John! Did you know trampolines are monsters. “Hey look! A monster broke my leg! Haha” In all seriousness though these two weeks have sucked, stitches come out this coming Wednesday and I will get my cast. Have you guys broken your leg before? 10/10 do not recommend! 😅

Punktlig

Also Dean said he’d be in his cast for 5 days. I call major bullshit without Cas giving him a touch up! Lol I’m down for way longer and it looks like he had a way worse break! 😂

ADDButterfly

I think most people ended up kind of 'hating' Dean after this episode. The stunt was just outrageous. He needed a slap to the head, with a shovel. lol
