Time Stamps Below:

- 0:18 KATIE ANNE: Which character has the best redemption story arc?

- 8:22 ZBKND: How often do you guys find yourselves buying into some new popular show, movie or whatever just because it’s the next “you’ve got to watch this” thing and not necessarily because you’re actually into it, but more of you don’t want to seem out of the loop?

- 20:55 RYAN H: Since the current season of My Hero Academia is almost over will you be doing another anime series in its time slot?

Hmm 🤔 here’s my list: I almost said SR in 3 Billboards! (Agree that it’s debatable) Shawshank for sure, incredible film 🎞 Eddie Bunker/Jack Mosely - 16 Blocks Officer Ryan - Crash Lucifer - throughout the entire show Human vs Self conflict and redemption Saul was blind before he became Paul the Apostle! Catholic college educated me deeply in this story! Prince Hal who becomes King Henry IV - Courtesy of William Shakespeare Red Dead Redemption - Arthur! Augusten Burroughs - in his memoirs, Running with Scissors and Dry. Other than Darth Vader and Snape, I’d add the Hulk 💚

--And of course, thank you for all that you do!

Re:Zero is one season :)

That was most enjoyable thanks for answering part of it lucky I had 2 Q's 😅 when either of you have free time watch one of them lol. I'll make sure when I have Questions that have to many variables to be more thought out but it was still nice to hear what u thought of and pokémon would make a good choice unfortunately never had a chance to play Star fox and yeah being the character would have bin easier but being in the universe could have been fun and interesting as well tho terrifying... (D😱m or Last of Us etc...) Well thanks again hopefully I'll have another one for you 2 we'll see 😁👍 - Anime replacement: unfortunately Shield Hero is 25 EP not 12 😖 tho just 1Se for now...

Ryan H

Some good shorter anime from last year are Beastars (12 episodes netflix) and Vinland Saga (24 episodes amazon prime)

ZBKND

Thanks for answering!!🤣 You guys honestly took it further by explaining what keeps you interested in a show which i think is the more important question anyway.

When it comes to TV Shows/Anime i rarely do watch them when they are the most popular , I rather wait and see how critical reception is and when it all settles down how people feel about them still. Naturally it needs to iinterest me innitially too. Speaking about chernobyl , I only recently watched it . And I gotta admit, people were not overselling this mini series . Its been a while since i watched something that could evoke such dread and tension for a mini series . People dont wartch Code geass , Greg, cause they are just peasants that dont understand true art . lol, Tho I am one of those people , the biggest turn of for me were the character designs , especially faces . hahah. As far as character redemption goes . Main character in silent voice , despite some issues , the way that character progresses is just really well done and fitting . Also can Hugh Jackman's Logan be considred as a character redemption movie / arc? IDK Unless we consider all the previous xmen movies . As for anime , yeah , something short of 12 to 24 eps would be refreshing , and since all you guys watch are shounens, you might wanna branch out eventually , since you might start see the similar patterns between these shows, and how they are structured

Ryan H

I'm with Ed the most popular anime usually isn't the best anime. Nowadays I prefer the short "HBO mini series" type anime if you know what i mean.

Good picks here, m'dear! We're both gonna have to catch up with Shawshank at some point 😅 but weirdly, it's nice to see 16 Blocks in here. We both caught that in the theaters back in the day, actually, and I remember enjoying it! Think Hulk's a great addition as well! I think my biggest curiosity out of your list as of this moment would be Lucifer.. even though I'm not tooootally surprised.. I also can't quite imagine it haha.

Katie Anne

Well Lucy did start out as one of God's favorite angels, until he fell. So, the show explores how this fallen angel could regain his wings and find a way back into grace and holiness. Fascinating, indeed :)

Haha glad you enjoyed, mate!!! Bummed we weren't able to expound more on your first question 😅 will have to check 'em out at some point! Either way, had a lot of fun entertaining which video games to potentially inhabit - there're a lot to choose from and much to debate lol. Appreciate the recommendation as well! Will have a look either way; it's good to be aware of what everyone's into. Thanks again for the love & the question - we'll keep an eye out for ya on next month's!! 😊

thereelrejects

No problem!! Thanks for asking 😆 really glad you enjoyed the vid! It's interesting to pick this stuff apart, especially with the way media and the way we consume is slowly shifting & whatnot.

That seems like the most qualitative way to go about it. Wait a li'l time to see what stands the test.. What was the last one you watched in real-time? YES to Chernobyl for sure!! Definitely one I'd like to revisit sometime soon, but totally agree - SO much aura, dread, and emotion crammed in there. Really top-notch. (Would feel maybe a liiiittle weird as a react series tho 😅) And how dare you!! Lol so wait, have you watched CG on its own? Or are you just tossing in some support despite your distaste for the faces? 😜 At some point I'll have to see A Silent Voice. Remember hearing/seeing raves for it when it first dropped in theaters. Aaaas for Logan... that's a good question! There's definitely, I think, some element of redemption there. Obviously there are arguments can be made, ESPECIALLY if you factor the previous X-Movies... buuut I think there's a conversation to be had for Logan. I think we're with ya on that haha. We've got a good amount of long-running shows, would be good to get some shorter burst series in as well! ...curious as to what you might recommend/what folks would be into beyond Shounen. Obviously, we're not yet connoisseurs the way you are haha, feels like most of what gains profile (at least in the US) is the shounen stuff..

Katie Anne

P.S. - This format is better for audio, the clarity and volume is much better :)

Edgar

I dropped code geass when I was watching on its own years ago. I was done after 4 episodes, haha. I'm super picky when it comes to anime anesthetics / visuals. And I know I missed some really good shit with this mindset. As for anime, shounen stuff is definitely the most popular worldwide, and it will get you the most traction, I feel shounen western equivalent would be superhero / comic book shows and films
