I've actually studied the Japanese language and culture a bit in college and, from what I understand, the Japanese are about anime the same way Americans are about comics, comparatively few into it, while pretty much everyone reads the manga. I'm glad that you guys are so close to the beginning of this series. I'm enjoying watching your reactions and listening to your comments. I've only seen the first 8 episodes, so I'll be getting into new episodes with you soon and I'm really looking forward to that. I'm also rewatching Supernatural with your reactions and once I catch up to the current episodes, I'll probably start watching more of the stuff that you're currently watching on here, like Death Note and Code Geass. You have some great content on here!

HxH is very character-driven and while this leads to some amazing highpoints, the beginning is quite slow. I feel confident in calling it my favorite shonen, yet I dropped the "first season" like three times.

The best moment to me was, when Leorio losing steam and Gon just stopped and looked directly at him, he said nothing, but we all understood the implication. Idk it was just solid piece of visual storytelling. Also this world is pretty fucked up, human trophies and black markets lol.

I definitely get that sense haha, at least from the little intro we've had so far. That's interesting to hear, though. Those shows are especially fascinating, I think.. the ones it takes you a few tries on, but then you grow to really love..

Aww, yeah! Gon just seems so pure of spirit haha. And I love how after that, Leorio is all "top form!" about everything. But yeah, that was nicely done moment. Love that Gon just nonchalantly grabs his briefcase too. Also.. what what WHAT?! Definitely excited to see more now lol 😅

I find it funny when the best moments in the show are mostly character driven moments, yet the way show is done it kinda prioritizes world building/systems/complex plot ect .lol

You're welcome! I haven't decided yet if I'm going to watch the episodes first and then watch it with your reactions or watch it with you for the first time. I lean more towards watching it twice, mainly because I don't want to miss your reactions but I don't want to miss what's going on in the shows, either. I'll probably stay watching them at the same rate that you are, instead of binging anything, though. I stopped watching Supernatural in season six, so you have a pretty long way to go before you're into episodes that are completely new to me. Some of the stuff at the beginning of that season really put me off and I haven't watched it since. Since that was years ago, I decided to go ahead and rewatch it from the beginning, with you guys.
