I hope you guys do reaction highlights for this at some point. It's way too much for my schedule to rewatch a whole episode but I would love to watch a 8-15 min reaction 😭

Great reaction as always John. This episode may seem unimportant but it has lasting coincidences for the series. Some fun facts. St.Agnes (Skye’s orphanage.) is Daredevil’s orphanage. So they were most likely there together at some point. Given their ages. Another thing about the writers is they really try not to follow typical comic book and tv tropes and you will see that going forward. Next episodes I’ll say starts what I call the character introductions episodes. You’ll get to know each of these characters through the “monster of the week format.” Another thing I’m glad you caught was the fact that the DR. had a point. The villains on this show are rarely completely wrong.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that! I'd definitely like to get the highlights going for this show as well, seems like a good idea. Just a matter of the time it takes at the moment. My goal right now is by season 2, but we'll see how it goes.

Thanks, mate!! Just given the ending, I figured this can't be the last we've seen/heard from this situation 😅curious to see when/how it comes back, tho! And that's pretty cool re: St. Agnes! It's a shame they couldn't crash this into the Daredevil show at some point (...unless they did & I just don't know it yet 😅). Still though, that's pretty cool to think about! It's nice to hear that as well, in terms of the writing. This episode felt to me like it was making an effort to make some more interesting choices with its more-familiar elements & I really appreciate when shows allow for interesting antagonists rather than just straight-villains. Also appreciate, at least so far, that there's an acknowledgement of the dubious nature of S.H.I.E.L.D., itself, as an organization. Excited to get more personal with the characters now that the ensemble feels solidified, though. And to see how they subvert the various comic book & TV tropes. Glad you're enjoying these!!

Don't know if you'll see this since it's far back, but Gravitonium is an established element in the comics. So yeah it's one of those made up elements with a ridiculous name but they figured they might as well use one that already exists in the comic book lore than creating a new outrageous mythical element 😅

Oh man, I've completely forgot they tried to pretend like Malta was some kind of Wild West and not a member state of the EU :D

Dr. Foppo

I doubt you will see this but because you mentioned the philosophical aspect in the end: regarding if the Doctor's actions could have been justified etc. The funny hypocrisy in the scene is that Coulsen 'killed' one person to save thousands because said one person wanted to kill thousands to save millions. Hmmmm.
