So I was wondering about the initial thought about Alphonse not being actual human . While watching this i had an idea why he was so easily swayed. He's 14 years old is he not? I think that could be one of the reasons why he was so easily manipulated by that prisoner. Like from the looks of it , Edward is a bit more mature in how he deals with all this shit and I mean hes has to, cause he blames himself, he is the state alchemist. And I think Alphonse can act a bit more his age, due to that. Like i have no idea if this was the justification the writer thought, but I thought that could be a decent theory, at least right now. So IDK if you noticed, but there is a pattern to most of these eps., first half is more light hearted and funny and second half gets to explore the conflict and themes. I kinda only notice now , on my second re watch. Anyways , lol thanks for mentioning me ? I guess, was weird hearing my name on a youtube video lol.

Haha no problem! I'll just keep name-checking you until you're bored of it 😜 And I think that's a pretty good theory regarding Alphonse. I think that's sorta how I justified it when I saw it the first time. Like... it didn't convince me that that was really a possibility, but I could still see how Al might be convinced of that (especially when coming from someone else like him) which is why I didn't hold the overall idea against them, if that makes any sense. And while I don't think I'd totally put my finger on it yet, I can definitely feel that structure at work. I guess that makes sense - start off on a lighter note to remind us why we love spending time with these characters and then end with the heavier themes to bring us back for next time. One'a these days (given the time haha) I think this is definitely a show I'd go back for a second viewing of. Or maybe I'll go back for the original series at some point to see how that differs.. Anyhow, appreciate your feedback as always, man!! :)

Oh man,, like original series i adore. Like the content you're seeing now it's kinda the same content there, but the approach in original is a lot more depressing and darker (if you can believe it lol) also theres a lot more room for scenes to breathe and there's this main musical theme that's just really encapsulates the show. On the other hand the production values are a bit iffy compared to brotherhood, the shows is not as tight and second half just completely goes off the rails since at the time they caught up to a point where Manga was still ongoing. Like personally as much as like the original, I don't think I would recommend it to anyone after they seen brotherhood, unless they ran out of every other anime to watch, lol

Damn haha, good to know. I've heard that the story in the original series falls off a bit when they run out of source material, but I might still go back for an episode or two.. At least just to check out the differences in the animation. Appreciate the heads up, though, haha. I trust your expertise.
