Early Access: A Little Magic (Patreon)

You're hearing it first! 'A Little Magic' is Track #1 from A Little Magic (out Dec 4th).

This idea for this song came in 2015. The first line ("how is Santa ever gonna find us here in this little old town?") popped into my head as I was preparing for a Christmas trip to Ireland. I had never spent Christmas anywhere but in my family home. To miss out on my family Christmas for the first time seemed like a sign of adulthood. Nobody wants to grow up. As I was writing this song, I imagined that if I were a child I'd be confused as to how Santa would find me abroad. Then a flood of questions became the verse lyrics... about how Santa did all he did.

Every holiday season, I'd tweak the lyrics, change the key and experiment with the tempo. For awhile, I was just searching for the right groove for this to sit in. It started as a ballad... as most do for me. :) Sometime this holiday season, I'll share with you the original voice memo recording so you can see how a song can change over time. It wasn't until the making of the EP that A Little Magic was officially deemed complete.

This song will (secretly) be out on 11/2 - but officially announced on 11/5. It's a tactic my release team is trying in hopes that it finds a big Christmas playlist. We shall see! My dream would be for this song to be in a Christmas commercial. Putting it out in the universe!
