July calendar piece! (Patreon)

Hope you're enjoying your summer so far! California has been a land of heat waves and I've been absolutely sweating my shorts off. I don't mind the heat though, it's a nice chance to get some much needed sun, which makes me really happy!

In this piece I wanted to capture what I consider a quintessential part of summer: fireworks! I've had some lovely memories playing with fireworks in July and seeing the sparks light up the night never fails to put a smile on my face. Add the company of loved ones and it makes the experience that much sweeter. I focused on portraying colors that remind me of those exciting nights, warm yellows and reds against the cool dark blues of the sky.
