It's normal in any interview for the guests to screen what will be discussed and vice versa for hosts. For someone in Julie K. Brown's mainstream journalistic position, it could be used against her in a serious way had the episode allowed for less than plausible deniability. The fact that she came on the show is what's extremely meaningful. She likely understands what the podcast is and just her appearance there bolsters its credibility too, something done by everyone involved intentionally. It's awesome that she got on the show!
