Hi Everyone!

This week I'm showcasing work done towards getting the 2nd enemy type into the game: Golems!

For those interested on when the next build is. I'll be posting the next Weekly Roundup on Wednesday the 29th along with the end of month build.

1: What's New

So this week was knuckling down and doing the artwork, rigging and some basic scripting work for the 2nd enemy type to be put into the game.

That enemy is called a Golem:

It represents an enemy type that's more quickly defeated and more like a "Fodder" type of enemy in that once you've beaten down its health it's removed from the dungeon.

And when a more detailed resource system is in the game it'll be an enemy that drops loot upon defeat.

I still need to make the artwork to support it's attack function but the idea is that the golem is going to be a ranged attacker. It'll throw ropes in the direction of the player which they'll need to dodge. Failure to dodge will lead to the player being bound up and open to other attacks.

There was also some extra work done on the AI Pathing. While we haven't yet put in AI collision logic for dynamic objects in the world like characters and other enemies, we have addressed the enemies moving into walls and getting stuck.

What do you think of this new enemy type? :D

2: What's Next

Next week is a shorter week due to the next month starting on the Friday. I generally try my best to get the game out 1-2 days before the next month rolls over which means next roundup is on Wednesday the 29th.

My goal for the few days of focused work on the project will be getting the enemy attack logic in so that it can be a menace to the player.

Feedback:

It's that time once again when I ask how people are enjoying the Patreon and if they have any feedback.

Is the pace of content and production of the game to your liking? Are you enjoying what you're seeing in the Bindmancer?

If you have thoughts please feel free to let me know. :D

Cheers

It looks tough for a minion/canon fodder enemy, tall too. The fact that it has damage states suggests the complete opposite. I think this bad boy should be a miniboss!

They look amazing! I am curious as to how they tickle or capture our little hero?
