Hi Everyone!

This week got in some really cool new content into the game. Enough to warrant a mid-month build for people to play!

1: What's New

A lot is new! :D

Most visually striking this week is that I was able to activate and take the time to get Unity's 2D lighting system into the game.

The result of which is giving the game a much more atmospheric look with some subtle blooms and rich colors standing out of the darkness.

It took quite a lot of work to get the lighting sources in and to play around with them to make them look appealing. I'd love to know what you think of the new lighting. Is it to dark or do you like the tone it sets? ^^


In addition to that my friend was also able to deliver to me a first and basic pass of the Enemy AI system. 

It's very early in its implementation by no means perfect but the cultist now once it detects you will follow you around and attack once it's next to you. It can be dodged and you can attack them back!


Chests also got an update in that I've created a spawn logic that randomizes which types of chests spawn at which locations, and not all chest locations are used at every run.

So you can't be sure if a treasure chest is a mimic or not based on memory. Mwhahaha! 


2: What's Next

Tons. I'll be reacting and implementing any new tweaks my friend gets me in terms of improvements to the Enemy AI code.

I'll also get started on the art for the next enemy type.

There's also some general gameplay improvements I want to get into the game.
