I’ll be honest, it’s hard being a swiftie sometimes. I’ve been a fan since 2008, and everything about Taylor has been calculated and done to ensure her image is clean. I think this election is the time where Taylor is neutral with her politics. Middle America loves her no matter what her stance is. She’ll always sell more than a million copies in the first week whenever her album drops. She’s a smart person and a businesswoman first.

i have no idea how you can be lgtbq, black, or a woman and not hate Trump and the current republican party. The republican party has never been more loudly anti-lgbtq and anti-woman than it is today. From loudly trying to stop gay couples being able to adopt children, to banning books in schools, attacking drag queens, to the overturning of roe v wade. It’s never been more controversial to be a repub bc they literally attack every community. while I agree that taylor doesn't care if her fans approve of her actions anymore, she definitely cares about her fans knowing the "lore" and "easter eggs" about her personal life. her last album was full of way-too personal lyrics about matty's racist ass and how much she loved him (for whatever reason), but then she also had the nerve to write a song condemning her fans for calling her out about dating him in the first place??? like, you don't get to foster a parasocial relationship w/ your fans then side-eye them when they notice you're moving funny!!! she wants it both ways when it comes to how ppl perceive her personal life and also politics, which is a MAJOR flaw of hers bc when you try to please everyone, you please NO ONE at all!!! just pick a side and stay on that side already omg

Not even a Kendrick stan (and I ESPECIALLY agree with what you said about him), but that being said, I think if anyone can turn the tides of attention from the beef to strictly his performance, it's Kendrick. He's a creative and a performer. He was even the highlight of the last Super Bowl performance he did when they did that rap medley (imo). Plus as you stated, he has a good catalogue. If he can pull from that and possibly drop something new on top of that, he'll be fine. No, that’s not right. The first amendment protects freedom of speech, which includes political speech. Take a look at Sophia Bush’s instagram. Legally, Taylor Swift could’ve had a much stronger statement advocating for Harris. She and her team just didn’t think it would be good from a PR perspective. But just like you can tell people who to vote for, or a campaign ad can, Taylor could, she just didn’t.
