I remember just last yr, my mom was saying how mexicans come here to use food stamps and medicaid for free and when I told her that simply was not true bc most immigrants pay taxes but up until recently weren’t allowed to reap the benefits of what their taxes poured into, she got pissy and started a whole argument with me. And then got even angrier because my grandma agreed with me when I asked my mom if she realized that the rhetoric she just spewed about them was the same rhetoric white people used to say about us. Something my grandma said to me one time long ago was “It’s not lost on me that white people simply recycle racist rhetoric for whatever group of people they’re disparaging at the moment.” And that has stuck with me ever since. Lazy, entitled, too many kids, violent, illiterate, etc. It’s always the same shit just packaged to you in a different race/ethnicity by the white supremacist.

I unfortunately did watch a good portion of the debate until I couldn't any longer. It honestly felt like I was watching a moderate "progressive" republican vs an alt-right republican. awful. A very rude awakening for me. My "libtard snowflake immigrant loving utopia" is further than I thought. Maybe one day gender affirming surgery will available to incarcerated undocumented immigrants. Definitely not in the next 4 year though.

I think this whole Super Bowl situation is manufactured outrage, no one’s given a fuck about what Wayne’s been doing for the past 5 years now all of sudden there’s outcry and outrage that he’s not performing the superbowl of all places, Everytime there’s superbowl halftime discussion Wayne is never brought up as a contender bc 1. Lovvveeee Wayne as an artist but he is not in good health and I can’t name a single performance he’s had in recent years that gave Super Bowl worthy performer. That coupled with the fact that Super Bowl performers generally aren’t picked based on where they’re from makes me wonder why anyone thinks he was entitled to that. I feel like anyone who claims to love him fr wouldn’t even want to see him doing a mess of a performance in front of the entirety of America. S/o to out to Alabama: My home. My thing with “this country was built on immigrants” is , that’s completely false. Black Americans who descended from slavery built this country and that should not be overlooked or disregarded to be perceived as pro immigrant. My issue is illegal immigration. I don’t think anyone should be breaking law to seek refuge in this country.

I am first generation American. It is really frustrating to me that my mom and a few other family members are trump supporters because of his anti immigrant sentiment. I do fight with my mom about her beliefs. She sees herself as different because she is a US citizen despite her immigrant background. Talking to other friends who are Latinx they also have immigrant family members who are trump supporters. I think in your last episode you mentioned something about this. It is really aggravating how my mom is only thinking about herself. I don't care about "illegal" immigration.. Legality is determined by governments. Historically not every law has been ethical and just. I wish Americans were aware that countries have been destabilize by the US thus, people often have no other option but migration. The US also depends on the cheap sources of labor. I also think immigration is (possibly) hated world wide. I visited Chile and there was people warning me about the Venezuelan migrants...I want to believe in a world where all peoples can coexist.

Saying that the democrats don’t believe in anything like they weren’t the ones that passed the civil rights act, affordable care act, made gay marriage legal, kept insulin cost at 35 dollars, student loan debt forgiveness, got this economy back on track multiple times, and provided people with millions of jobs, is insane. This is a false dichotomy and completely incorrect. The country was built on slavery AND immigrants. Basic knowledge of history would tell you that the west coast was built almost entirely by Chinese and Mexican immigrants, the east coast by Irish, Carribean immigrants, etc. It’s naive the think millions of immigrants would be tolerated for hundreds of years in a white supremicist nation if their labor was not needed to build it. The US has always exploited immigrant labor and then used them as scapegoats when they need someone to blame for crime or the state of the economy. *Coincidentally* the same thing they do to black americans. Siding with white supremacy does not benefit you.

You’re moving the goal post because no where did I say anything about contributions. How did we go from “this country was built by immigrants” to contributions. Those are two different conversations for when we’re talking about the inception of this country. I’m from Alabama descendants on Mississippi Choctaws who were enslaved and reclassified as Black/ Negro. It was Black Americas who built Country through free labor Black Americans who were the first stock of this country Black Americans who were the foundation for this economy Black Americans who built those railroads Black Americans with 50,000 inventions that influenced this country and the world And so much more since you bring up contributions Black Americans are the backbone of this country because we built it. #theynotlikeus Matter of fact another reason why illegal immigration is an issue is because of resources being set aside when that could be use toward giving Black Americans our reparations !
