Greetings Patrons,

I had this idea for a set piece/drop-in scenario that was based somewhat on the Wandering Emporium from the D&D book, Descent into Avernus. The concept was that instead of a caravan of motorized vehicles, the entire market fit onto an enormous wagon, pulled by a massive Aurochs. Small catch: it never stops and never slows down.

While the idea of a constantly roaming market was interesting, i felt there was also an element of mystery and tragedy to it. I remember reading Foucault's re-imagining of Plato's Ship of Fools allegory many years ago and thought there could be interesting backstories here: both for the market itself and the individuals aboard.

Musically, I tried to underscore the sense of relentless motion that embodied the market. Perpetual figures played on double bass, oud, dulcimer, cello, and drum are interspersed with melodies on flute and horn and viola.

The ambience features the aurochs and the wagon in addition to the throngs of customers trying to keep up.

As this is in Patron-only sneak-peek mode I've included the mixed-version (live on the site soon), as well as music-only and ambience-only versions here. Additionally, I created 2 'no-crowd' versions, for when the market is traveling alone, between towns and cities.

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim

P.S. I'm taking off next week for a small vacation with my family so there won't be a track next Wednesday. But, I will be back the following week refreshed and inspired!
