Greetings Patrons,

One of the suggestions on my list was over 2 years old and all I had written down was flames everywhere. I started thinking about scenarios where this might fit into a story and a I found that it actually had a surprising number of plot possibilities in it. This ended up with a track I called Burning Village. Here's a just few that went through my head while I was working on it.

  • You are tasked with rescuing people, horses, things from a terrible fire.
  • You're sent to a village teeming with evil and are asked to burn it to the ground.
  • You fail a dexterity check while lighting fireworks in celebration of the village you just saved.
  • You arrived at the burning village but the flames are unnatural.
  • You failed a lock picking test to get into a house and decided to go with plan B.

I think this might be a fairly useful utility type ambience because it will work across a lot of genres. There's nothing here that would be out of place in traditional medieval fantasy, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't work for a modern stories.

The music portion of the ambience definitely leans toward the gritty and supernatural but I've included both ambience only, and music only versions of the track here for patrons.

I hope you find this a useful addition and look forward to hearing what you come up with.

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support. Be well, and be safe.

Best,

Tim

Love this track! The music only has so many more uses across different genres.

Yes! That's the version which you can hear on the site. You'll only ever find alternate versions here on Patreon. -Tim

A little bit too timely when this popped up in my feed last month.
