[EARLY PEEK + POLL][RPO] Turn-Ons & Turn-Offs Feature Extension + General Mod Fixes (Patreon)
Content
Hi Moon, Sun, Star and Superstar tiers + long-time patrons! Thanks for being here <3
Next week we'll likely talk about Law & Disorder, but for now, let's talk about RPO!
First: Bug Fixes talk
& Second: Feature Addition talk + poll.
*************
RPO BUG FIXES DONE AND TO COME OUT SOON:
TO-BE-RELEASED BUG FIXES:
- throw up interaction will now appear properly again
- babies will transfer household properly again
- it'll be easier to have mod interactions show properly for Sims pre-existing update and fresh out of CAS
- other stuff I already forgot about
TO-BE-RELEASED CHANGES:
- Visual and functional changes to some menus for better navigation
- the turn-ons and turn-offs have left M16 to instead live in their own space; I present to you:

M17: Turn-Ons & Turn-Offs
The Turn-Ons & Turn Offs Introduced in M16 are finally getting their gameplay activated!
This is meant as a 'compatibility' system geared towards romance. Its style is inspired by Sims 2.
For a universal non-romantic system, I have my First Impressions mod.
The way those two work together is that if you have both, if the sim talked to could not be a potential romantic partner, First Impressions system plays, and if the sim could be a potential partner, the Turn ons / turn off system of RPO M15 plays. (This is determined by orientation and age, as well as whether the turn on / off system is enabled or not).
First off, you will notice that compared to the currently released version, I have changed the icons to make it more precise / immersive:
The Navigability of those interactions has also been improved. The windows repeat and are equipped with a back button.
MATCHING
For personality, the system looks at traits, preferences, skill levels, stats, etc (basically everything and anything that would make sense) to figure how matching or not the Sim's preferences are to the other sim's character.
For style, the system looks at physique, stats, and elements such as Occult type, (all inspired from Sims 2).
These have been in the mod and accessible to players for a month cosmetically now, they were just not functional yet, but now they are.
This mod will remain basic on the appearance side, because a. it's emulating sims 2 and b. if you want more appearance stuff you can download a Turbodriver mod for it.
And if you use a physical attraction system from a Turbodriver mod, the appearance side of my system will automatically be disabled.
Weight of preferences: PERSONALITY weighs in a little HEAVIER than style in final results. Let me know what you think of that.
RESULTS
The resulting possible compatibility has 4 levels, with a neutral non-level in the middle. This means that your Sim won't react to Sims who aren't really fitting to either turn-ons or turn-offs and just be neutral about them.
So, it's like this:
- Very Charming
- Rather Charming
- (nothing)
- Rather Charmless
- Thoroughly Charmless
The Sim performs an animation and gets an effect and a thought bubble relating to what level of attraction they got, if any. Three bolts = strong, one bolt = mild.
The effect of attraction: Fairly basic for now: influence on autonomy towards the sim; some moodlets. More later, very likely!
The Settings: It's the same as it is already in the released version, plus a little addition: the systems can be turned off globally, turned on globally (this is like the release version), or turned on globally but off for specific Sims (the addition).
VOTE ON TWO LITTLE THINGS
1. When getting a 'very charming' or a 'thoroughly charmless', a notification pops up. Do you prefer it: with the icon of matching level (a), or with the icon of the other sim (b)?
2. Do you want the attraction to kick in:
a. at first meeting introductions (pros: automatic and unmissable; cons: immediate)
b. at using 'get to know' interaction (pros: perhaps more 'real'; cons: missable and non-automatic)
_____
Feel free to share feedback on all of it of course, which I can take into account moving forward!
Thanks a lot,
Lumpinou
