Hello, a tiny progress brief today!
I have put the first prototype of all the new stuff in my game today, so I can give a few screenshots. Some things are still missing, all text is subject to change later, etc etc.
1. First, that little highly requested small feature I mentioned I was delivering with the next update too? It's mostly done, so I can reveal what it is - as I said, nothing big, but -
There is the choice to have pop-ups or not according to your decision on pop ups for the sims concerned.
A notification of the answer shows, and if a pregnancy occurs, the Sims who expressed a preference will react accordingly to being told about the pregnancy and, for siblings, also to the birth. A sentiment will be given out also.
This applies per pregnancy so, by the next pregnancy, you can do the choices all over again.
2. Quick word about an upcoming update to "Custom Moods for Game Moodlets", which I have been sitting on for a while and could have released long ago already but I wanted to expand it first, but we'll see - with it, some moodlets from my mods will also have custom moods if you so desire! Here's for example a moodlet from module 8 of Relationship & Pregnancy Overhaul. If there's specific moodlets from my mods and / or the game you think would fit a custom mood, feel free to make requests on that. I've already set aside the more obvious ones from my mods that I could think of.
3. The fertility revamp is mostly done. Only a few things left on that but the biggest part is behind us. All is going well on that end! I'm very happy with the new system. It's not big changes but it makes things just better.
Just as said before - sims who can be impregnated have a fertility metric from 0 to 100. Impregnators have a metric from 0 to 5. 0 means 'Infertile' and gives out the matching trait. The cycle option moves from the Sim's individual fertility baseline.
New sims will be on the new system automatically. For existing sims, they won't be given fertility automatically - they'll still be on the 25% rate. There is an interaction to manually give them the new system calculation, which is also an interaction that serves to re-assign the proper fertility metrics when a Sim switches from 'can Impregnate' to 'can be impregnated' or from 'neither' to either of these, etc.
4. Miscarriages are also progressing well. The main system works and is mostly in place. Still haven't done the special triggers so there's that, a few moodlets, etc, but we're moving well. PS don't pay too much attention to the text, I might rewrite it.
The Sims will show distress and sims around will also react. Then the sim automatically goes to the hospital. As I said before, the other parent will be sent as well if on lot. If the other parent is not the significant other, the significant other will be sent too anyways. If the parent has a low relationship with the pregnant sim and is not officially in a relationship, they won't go.
There are several possible outcomes to this situation. I'll tell you more in detail when I have finished this add-on but it al goes in the lines of what I've already told previously :)
(this is the moodlet initially obtained for sims who want children. They get other moodlets down the road too, just as for termination of pregnancy. I have meaningful Stories so the moodlet shows longer than what I set it for)
