A Little Emperor's Fixing 2 - or ‘When in doubt, use the Gulag to flush the Trouble’ (Akame Ga Kill, Emperor!SI)

Esdeath was bored.

As the Strongest General of the Empire, she didn’t see a point in being involved in matters that entailed governance. She was a fighter, a ruthless conqueror, but hardly someone that cared for politics and ambitions.

So, her presence here at this ‘Conference’ felt utterly unneeded. Yet, the Imperial Invitation had her involved. And the thing that had her invested, at least briefly, into this matter was that she could tell Honest was not behind this theatrical move.

Oh no, she knew the bastard to see when this kind of plotting was not something coming from the Prime Minister. The news of his ‘holiday trip’ had also left many confused, but Esdeath had seen beyond it. After all, if he was out for a ‘holiday’, how come new laws were passed? And how come those laws lacked any cruel calculation to them?

Esdeath was not a moron. She knew someone had just found the chance to gut the bastard and take his place. The fact the Empire had not collapsed with the amount of dirt and crap gluing the administration together now gone was a miracle in her eyes, yet she knew this Conference would be the biggest teller on what is currently happening.

After all, politics may not be her thing, but if it threatened her current livelihood, then she was going to make it work for her.

The Capital was… less colder compared to how it used to be. The presence of guards was the same, but the patrolling was eased as locals moved with a degree of greater relief. Sure, some panicked at seeing her in town, but the streets were still full of people by the time she was done marching up to the castle.

What is going on?

As her guards moved behind her, Esdeath finally reached the location of the meeting. The servant assigned to her had a bit of a hopeful look. Odd, very odd. And then… and then Esdeath sponged all the information that was presented in the meeting room.

It was the same as any war council, but the room felt less stuffed. Officers of the kind that wouldn’t miss this sort of meetings were missing. And there was no sign of Honest. The Emperor, little and frail, sat with a sense of regality that felt unusual, and even more unusual was Budo was sitting right beside him, to his right.

Which was usually the Prime Minister’s favorite seat.

Once everyone was accounted for and sitting at their spots, the Emperor stood up and gave a cursory look over the table.

“Good Generals of this glorious Empire, I have dire news to present to you and I wish to be blunt about it without being… well, too informal,” The boy spoke, carrying a sense of uneasy confidence. “In the recent month or two, a years-long conspiracy has been uncovered, and an investigation has occurred to fully grasp the scope of its reach. The results have been quite grim, thus justifying a purge.”

Esdeath blinked, surprise buried deep as she realized what happened and… she was smiling inwardly.

Ah, that fat moron tripped and died~!

“If we may inquire, how extensive of a purge? And on what grounds?” One of the generals asked, and the Emperor nodded.

“You may, and to answer your questions properly… first, the Purge was conducted on those names that we managed to get the Prime Minister to sing about during his interrogation. Second, the grounds which enabled such a harsh retaliation is that the Prime Minister has been found guilty of assassinating my parents while I was still very young with the interest to claim power as my regent and thus enable his sick mind to achieve power and enact laws without notifying me about them.”

High Treason and Lese Majesty. Esdeath had heard of those before, but never thought Honest would have tripped that badly. He was alive, this much she could gauge but… it felt odd that the little Emperor was doing all of this on his own. Could it be the plot of… Budo?

Ah, good one!

But seriously, Esdeath knew Budo was not that kind of officer. He was too attached to the military to give a shit of politics and power within the government. So, him following the emperor felt more understandable.

Then who is behind this sort of plotting?

As the meeting continued by explaining the new changes in the government, the abolition of the Prime Minister role so that an advisory council could be formed and other laws that Esdeath truly couldn’t give a crap about, she focused on trying to dig out who was acting in the shadows.

Time passed, passed decrees were revealed, and the new order of the military was implemented as the Path of Peace was now no longer deemed a terrorist group and a more ‘precision take’ on the Revolutionary Army was enforced.

Then, she realized that in her distracted glancing, the Emperor had spent a solid hour just staring right at her. To say that it kind of unnerved Esdeath was a given, but something else was at play in that moment. And as the meeting seemed to turn towards its closure, the Emperor said something that made Esdeath tense up.

“You are all dismissed- except you, General Esdeath. I have a special assignment for you.”

The room emptied in most part, and it sure felt unusual for her to be alone in that room. With just that little and fragile thing that is the Emperor of this vast Empire. For someone that prided herself in terms of power, the Emperor was an aberration of her beliefs.

He was so weak and insignificant, and yet wielded so much power through his title. It was an insufferable matter but-

“May I sit here?”

She merely nodded, caught off-guard as he chose her fucking lap to rest his butt on. His head leaned back on her chest, pressing against her breasts as she unconsciously wrapped her hands around his chest, out of worry of him shifting and falling due to her large bosom.

“Thank you. I am glad to know you have a good reaction and instinctive protective self.”

…More like a self-protective instinct.

“Now, Esdeath. You are a wonderful general. A ruthless war machine that knows how to employ vicious but effective means to secure victory, yes.”

A slow nod. “Y-Yes, my Emperor.”

“You are a successful officer. The strongest, yes?”

Another nod, the praise noted and appreciated. “Yes.”

“Then, let me ask you something and I want you to be honest. I will not be mad if you answer gruesomely, okay?”

“...Yes, my emperor.”

“Good, are you a sadist?”

“Yes.”

“Do you like to fight strong opponents that make your blood burn?”

Her breath was itching. How does- How does he know that?

“Yes.”

“Now, would it be correct to say that, if peace comes, that pretty much disappears from your plate?”

“That’s… that would be the case, yes.”

“Now, Esdeath. That would be a problem. And while I do hate you for being a monster, I do respect you for being loyal. You understand that I can’t exactly give you a full pardon, but I can give you a way out when that happens, do you understand?”

He knows. He fucking knows!

The thought terrified Esdeath to an early grave, but the woman was too prepared for that kind of mind-game. At least, she used to be as this was well beyond what Honest could pull. He was weak, he was sitting on his lap and was not afraid of the hold she had over him. He was fucking smiling as he told her, in couth words, that she was a chained dog. One that was being problematic and one that wasn’t going to stay in the military once her use was fulfilled. But what was his end goal?

“Yes.”

“Glad to know we have a quid pro quo. Now, the solution to this is quite simple: you pick a hobby, you check what location you feel you want to go and never be bothered again and the Empire will pay your pension until your natural death.”

“...I only like to fight-”

“Then become a hunter,” He argued. “I am sure you will find some scary monsters to train.”

Her hold tightened and the Emperor tensed up. A tiny grin appeared, but she refused to press more on that teasing.

“What if I decided to not do that?”

“There will be a trial for war criminals at the end of the Civil War. Most of the brutal orders that have been ‘allowed’ were not signed by my proper signature, so each case will be studied on who acted more ‘following orders’ and those that felt ‘aroused’ by it.”

And her being a sadist meant she was not going to be seen as innocent.

“So, you are giving me a way out.”

“That’s correct.”

“Of course, for you to get it you also have to finish the job. You will be given a list of dangerous targets to murder with your campaigns and then be given your retirement. All will be paid, you will not need to pay taxes and you can even extend the offer to your inner circle.”

He slowly slipped out of her lap, her arms moving to let him go.

“With that being said, I hope you have a good day, you crazy woman.”

And he was soon gone, leaving her to her thoughts as she knew her life was now on a time limit. She was upset she couldn’t fight this order back, the way that was handled was way too unexpected for her to refuse and- and!

The cheeky smile!

For some reason that little thing had the guts to smile at her like that. As if he ruled the world- which was technically true but… FUCK!

Esdeath was rubbing her legs together, a tiny blush on her cheeks and…

WHY THE FUCK AM I AROUSED?!
