Reincarnation or Isekai.

One could make a case that both can be quite dangerous on their own but… what happens when both sorta happens and you end up with the Gamer status too? Well, usually that’s good news. The Game tends to render most of the scenarios feasible if within a fair and acceptable world.

The world of DxD is a mixed bag in that regard. Some places, such as Pre-DxD Kuoh Town, are good ‘farming areas’, but there are also those that are unforgiving. Such as Hell. Or Italy.

Did you know that the church had a problem of demonic infestations here and there? Neither did I. In fact, when I woke up as one of the orphaned children making up the small town of Gelmi di Ripresa by the name of Giovanni ‘Gianni’ Parrisi, I thought things would have worked up just nice for me to eventually be in that stage of existence where shit wouldn’t have bothered me.

But no, plot has a way to push people with power, or potential, against others.

In my case, I didn’t expect such a matter to drive me to obtain a responsibility in the form of a little girl that bore the Twilight Healing Sacred Gear. Asia Argento, age 10, was an adorable, shy, innocent and, worst of all, mostly unarmed individual when it comes to the cruel world beyond the gilded cage the church had groomed her within for the last few years.

She ended up in my care at the end of an unexpected quest. This was roughly four months into my arrival, and I had done plenty of quests beforehand to clear some temporary dungeons, loot things and generally improve myself.

The quest itself was about dealing with a group of demonic bandits that were trying to ‘find a very precious treasure within the envoy of the church’. Well, I succeeded on the quest, I didn’t expect for the envoy to just kick Asia out there into the unknown to be ‘kept away from potential foes of the church after she got branded as an heretic’.

The poor girl stood out like a sore thumb, and it didn’t take me much to carefully coax her to live with me. In the small shack I prepared to live in for the time being. And while many children would whine and complain about a small and old house, Asia was actually delighted by it.

“If God’s will is for me to live a humble life, then I shouldn’t be upset by it.”

Ah yes, this is long before she gets the gut-punch that God is dead.

Still, I did a good job in pretty much getting her prepped up for the real world: Gave her a lot of affection and positive reinforcement through limited training, got her mind geared into focusing on healing spells through her Sacred Gear, told her that it wasn’t wrong to be a kind soul to someone in need so she could nurture her control over Twilight Healing, head patted her lovingly, and finally took her to dungeon raids so she could ‘level up’ through the party system.

This may sound like I am going fast with the story, but there is a good reason why I am being so fast-paced about it. Specifically, this peace was not meant to last when it became clear the Church was having second thoughts about banishing her. And they got rather handsy in trying to find her.

“W-What is going on?” Asia squeaked in her question, looking from the window as a bit of a ‘revolt’ had erupted in town.

“Church envoy. They wanted to rally up everyone and get you ‘back to safety’. The people didn’t like that.”

She perked up at this, well-aware of how much she was beloved by those in town. She had done so much around that she easily wormed into the hearts of many to the point of becoming ‘that little cousin that is close to us just not by blood’ sort of familial deal.

In a place like Italy, this was a big thing.

“And… what should we do?”

“We are leaving. Get your emergency bag ready?”

Instead of hesitating, Asia nodded and did just that. After all, there was a lot that went through her mind since she found happiness and peace in this place.  Despite the ‘holy and divine’ purpose of being the ‘Holy Maiden’, Asia had been taught something important to someone tackling religious education from a very young age: not all those that work for the church are good people, and not all parts of the bible is absolute divine truth.

That, coupled with her genuine dislike for the kind of life she was stuck in for more than five years of her existence, left her in an agreeing mood to ‘leave Italy for good’. We had the cash, we had the contacts and soon we were on a lovely boat going for Greece.

Once we were done packing, we used the ‘emergency path’ that led out of town, got to the closest one, paid a cab, and got to Taranto where we would board the ship we paid for.

Asia was mesmerized by the sights. She had been in Rome for a while, and while Taranto was not the same as the Italian Capital, it was still bigger than the town she enjoyed close to a happy year of her life.

Soon we were on board the ship and no one from the church had tracked us down to this place. We were free for the time being but… it wasn’t over just yet. After all, my intervention had caused canon to change in a considerable fashion.

Asia would have been taken in by Grigori-supporting groups until ready to be moved to Kuoh at the Age of 15. She shouldn’t have trained her Sacred Gear, she also would have met Issei, became an important person to him and… then died as her Sacred Gear got extracted. Only to be revived as Rias Gremory’s Bishop.

So, this situation fucked Canon in a rather anally manner, and I was somewhat sure things were going to get even more insane as we went along with what I had in plan to do.

“So… why Greece?” Asia asked, her knowledge regarding Geography quite basic.

Before answering, as we were away from any troublesome peepers, I manifested the ‘reason’ why I wanted to go there.

“To upgrade these,” I hummed, showing the Unique Item I got as I hit Level 25.

Due to my Swordsman Class, I had been given the chance to receive a special weapon as a reward, and within the list I got, the Blades of Chaos had been my favorite picking.

(Blades of Chaos Lvl. 1 - 25/25 ) - Forged in the foulest pit of Hades, the Blades of Chaos are powerful and fitting for a potential God-Slayer. Current Level limits its potential, and its current power offers a 25% boost to your STR Attribute.

Despite the fact those were the legendary weapons used by Kratos, someone known to have slain numerous Gods, the level of the weapons were dropped to its basic form, thus not of the kind that could be used to stand against Gods and win those confrontations.

I wanted to change that by visiting Greece and trying to upgrade them somehow. Maybe I could find Hephaestus and have him do that kind of work for me. But… how to convince a God to do that…

Well, I had plenty of time to think about it, a headpattable blond loli to destress with while also healing from, and a lot of canon events to ruin for the best or the worst~!
