Hey just thought I’d let you know about 10:35 I think you accidentally forgot to delete an audio take as there is a line you say twice in a row. Not sure if it’s too late to adjust it but I’d just thought I’d mention it in case there is time before the YouTube release. Great review otherwise.

Ooh cameos. Well you did show one I the review apparently, but now color me curious.

I have to say I’m actually really happy you got to see this movie in advance, personally I really do enjoy the first Puss in Boots and consider it a really good Dreamworks animated film, and with this sequel, I’m definitely considering on giving it a watch, and honestly it just feels great to see Dreamworks Animation making a comeback after so long and they are producing solid and enjoyable animated films again.

Given that I have seen the movie from early screenings thanks to Universal and DreamWorks Animation, like Mat said, this is not better than the first Puss in Boots movie, but it is the best of the franchise since Shrek 2. What I think was made improvements over the most of the first film of Puss in Boots is the story and writing while bringing back some actual heart of what made the first two Shrek movies great. Tacking a mature storytelling with themes that adults can relate to while bringing the core of the message to make the heart more meaningful. I do love the animation as well as this is a full on inspiration levels of Spiderverse to make it feel like you’re actually in a fairytale world similar to what DreamWorks has done with the Bad Guys earlier this year. Don’t get me wrong, the animation of the previous Shrek movies were good but I think it could’ve been a lot better if it done more stylized than going for realism. The action scenes were also good along with fun and sometimes dark humor which I don’t DreamWorks hasn’t done since their early films and great voice acting like Banderas and Hayek including their chemistry together in which one of the things that I think made the first film at least good. For characters, Puss and Kitty Softpaws that I were great as usual, but I also like the new villains as well in which I like Goldilocks and the Three Bears the most with both character development and tribute to something like Guy Ritchie film. At the same time though, the amount of villain screen time is what I think my biggest problem because villains like the Big Bad Wolf weren’t given enough screen time in this and I wish I wanted to see them more of this. As for Perrito, I may have to disagree with Mat over on this because I do think he a good addition in this and even better comic relief than Humpty Dumpty in the first film. I do get the argument that he just another Donkey clone and I kinda start off slow at first but thanks to great personality and good performance by Harvey Guillén, I ended up growing more with this character and good addition to Puss and Kitty’s group. Hot take: I take Perrito over Humpty because Humpty to me is the worst part of the first film and to why I didn’t fully love the first film in the first place as he like Flint Lockwood except he’s unlikable, selfish and a bad comic relief character altogether and I like Flint in the Cloudy films. I know some will disagree with me but it my opinion and I just think Perrito is better supporting character than Humpty in terms of how they’re written. I overall love this movie I’m planning on seeing it again on the big screen so I hope more people would go and see it over Avatar 2 this holiday season because it a must watch animated film you can’t miss. If they bring Shrek again for another Puss in Boots film or even Shrek 5, I would down to see him again. It a 9/10 for me so please, go watch it when it comes out!

Puss maybe back but here's the difficult question for DreamWorks: how long will this last & would we want the ogre's return?

Hunter O'Laughlin

Trust me, I don’t care for Avatar that much and know the sequel is going to be style-over-substance like the first film.

I had my doubts over this considering the 11 year gap between the first film, but I’m glad my doubts are being washed away and I’m more excited to see this on Christmas Day. Will be the best Christmas gift like how I saw Spider-Man: No Way Home last year on my birthday and opening night and was my best birthday gift.

This is great! I was honestly hoping it was going to succeed. Crazy enough after all that, even I want to see Shrek to come back. It's like when we doubted the franchise is not getting better, it's thanks to Puss to show when given the right material it'll stay strong.
