This was definitely a great and fascinating look at how the Muppets became what we known them today as entertainment icons. The Muppet Show- Easily one of the most important and greatest pieces of Muppet history and helped establish the Muppets as entertainment icons as well as help introduce Kermit The Frog and help home become recognizable as the main Muppet. The Muppet Movie- A really great and well done movie and was a great start to the Muppet’s introduction on the big screen and helped expand The Muppets and help the popularity of the Muppets grow after the original series was canceled. This definitely ended up as another great lookback episode and I can’t wait for part 3.

This is great! Miss Piggy as a brunette seems off to me, though.

The long-waited second part of Animation Lookback: The History of the Muppets has arrived and it’s even better than the first part. Glad you were able to find ways to talk about the history of the Muppet show without being too similar to Kevin Purger’s Jim Henson series for DefunctTV. While it was fun relearning the struggles and perseverance of Jim Henson to get The Muppet Show on the air, it was also fun learning some interesting facts of the technical aspects Jim and his crew created for the Muppet’s first film that helped create new ways of bringing the Muppets more to life and to the real world like the marionette Kermit on the bike, the metal container to contain Jim while he performed Kermit underneath the log and swamp waters, the giant Animal head, the dwarf driving the car from the trunk while Jim and Frank Oz and the other Muppeteers performed the characters, the obvious blue screen for some of the full body shots and the pit for the Muppeteers. Just learning all this technical aspect was the highlight of the video for me and really shows the brilliance of Jim Henson when finding methods to perform the Muppets on a film set or in a real location.

It's amazing to learn how The Muppet Show was released. And with The Muppet movie, I was always curious when it came to the effects. But I knew the El Sleezo Cafe was with a blue screen because of how the backgrounds looked. And it was fun to learn that Tim Burton and John Landis were involved with the production as puppeteers. And for the ending with The Rainbow Connection Reprise, it always leaves me in tears when I see it because it hits every emotional level it brings when watching it. Well can't wait for part 3.

I know right? Learning about the creation of the effects Jim and his crew created to convincely bring the Muppets to the real world is very impressive. I had no idea Jim actually was under that swamp water performing Kermit or the Animal head was a really gigantic head rather than a miniature or the original Muppet popping out of a miniature building with forced perspective. Something that makes AniMat’s Muppet web documentary series stand out from DefunctTV’s Jim Henson series.

Look great so far. I haven’t seen the Muppet Show but I’ll get around in the future. For The Muppet Movie since I seen it twice already on Disney+ considering I was at the time of trying to play catch up, definitely a classic film no doubt about it. I would even say that it a flawless type that I can for sure be safe to give it a 10/10 approval. Hope to see more about other Muppet films in the future.
