Hey there, patrons! Thanks so much for all of your support this month. This update was about two weeks later than I hoped it would be, but at least it still came out this month. I'll be able to pick things up and get back on schedule soon, so thank you all for bearing with me while I get back on track.

What CG are you planning on next? I hope its the Bugs or that Futa Creature!

When I grabbed the Flare Shot it didn't give me the usual explanation it gives when you get something new, even though I already knew what it did, told me my max capacity of Flare shot was increased and gave me 500 of them. When I went to use it on the object to the right of where you grab it, I got an error message and the game crashed. I used to teleport room to get there so I'll see if taking the long way makes a difference. This was the message it gave me: FATAL ERROR in Vertex Shader compilation ShaderName: shdOnFire D3DXCompile failed - result at gml_Object_objDestFloor_Draw_0

Anon42

That's very strange.. I just ran through and tested it really quick and it worked fine for me, both the explanation and burning the vine. Was anything else acting strangely in your playthrough? Does the bug happen every time you get there or was it just the one time? Do other collectibles work fine or are they also not giving explanations?

Anon42

Didn't see the edit with the error message before - have you downloaded/updated DirectX? If you haven't, do that and it should fix that crash right up. Still not sure why the flare shot explanation didn't show up though.

Whoa! I also had the same issue as Joe. Playing the game on Vista (old PC), so that might have a lot to do with it.

Anonymous

Your advice kinda helped. I have Windows 10 so I there is no manual download for the latest version. I had to download the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer to grab stuff prior to the latest version. Microsoft gives me a headache, but the world runs on Windows. The plus side is that there is no more error.

How do I access the debug menu? Is it different from the one in the options menu? Also, I can't seem to get the BE scene for the warped sentry to trigger, not sure what I'm doing wrong

Anonymous

What are the changes for this build? You didn't seem to post any of them.

Anon42

The changes are in a separate post right below this one, just like last month. They're separated because only patrons at $5 or higher can access this post, with the download link, while everyone can see the other one that has info.

You access the debug menu by reaching the end of the demo and interacting with the letter on the box, then the debug menu becomes accessible in the pause screen. The BE scene for the warped sentry won't work if there are two sentries right now, it'll just play the normal duo scene instead because the duo BE scene isn't finished; make sure there's only one sentry there and it should work just fine, as long as Alicia's boobs are enlarged.

I'm having the same issue as Joe and Nikoliach. I'm running the game via CrossOver on an ancient Mac OS—which I know is just asking for trouble—but I've never had CPE crash on me before.

Anon42

Like I told Joe, you just need to go install/update DirectX and it should fix the crashes. This is the first update to CPE that uses shaders (to accomplish the effect of things turning red when they're on fire), so it makes sense that you never had this problem before. In any case, DirectX is an absolute requirement for it, so there's not much I can really do on my end.

Anon42

Like I told Joe, the crash should be easily fixed by installing/updating DirectX. It's a requirement for shaders, which are used for the special effects when you set stuff on fire ingame

After a full run through, all the other collectables work fine. It's just Flare Shot that doesn't give an explanation. It just notifies you that your max ammo for it has increased. To those of you with the DirectX issue, after using the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer delete and download or unzip the game again to get the box with the note on it to appear. It won't otherwise.

Thanks! Asking for troubleshooting help with Windows games on Mac usually yields PEBCAK-type comments (not without reason, I admit!), but it's the only computer I've got, and I'm not about to run CPE on a public computer...

Anonymous

Don't see much change, sorry

Anonymous

The download link didn't work for me :'3

Anon42

Click the link on here, not in the email; I had to edit in a new link because there was a problem in the original link, so the email link is invalid now. The one on here works fine

Anon42

All the changes made between this and the last update are listed in the post just before this one

Glad I was able to help! I know virtually nothing about Macs, so it was just a stroke of luck I suppose :p
