I took it easy this Sunday. Miniature-wise I had a lesson in the afternoon and decided to build up an s.o.b.

I've been enjoying detailed basing lately. Fantascising about building a massive scenic base and fining the models later. But for now, I'll work on smaller pieces and get some details down.

The usual approach was laid out. I like to give myself some options and pull out a few trays from my basing tower. A basing buffet of broken bits.

It's small but captures a lot of momentum. It's easy to imagine a larger, chaotic battle going on around her. But faith is the shield that no bullet can break.

I'm imagining purple armor and a pale yellow base as a general start. Well see how long that plan lasts.

Cheers,

-Sam

Interesting - curious to see how that large concrete slab she is standing on will turn out.

Ahhh man. Making a base first is such an obviously brilliant and inspiring idea. I often make my bases after painting and I feel like it slows my projects. I think I'll give that a shot.

Sometimes I leave the model detached but building the base at the same time feels better for composition. At least the way I work. Bottom to top, inside to out!
