Drilling holes in a minotaur's foot, carving flame, just another weeknight.

I spent the evening prepping up this Judgement model from Creature Caster. My intention is to enter him at the Nova Open but bigger still, I want to make a tutorial in this model. He'll be the first if this new wave. But before I get to all that, let's break down the construction.

It starts large ti small and keeps moving that way. First, the major details were arranged, getting the model centered in relation to the large divit and sketching a flaming backdrop.

The plasticard was thin enough that I could cut it with a scissors. The blade was used in some of the more complex areas but mostly its all scissors here.

Next up I could start adding a bit more to the debris. I decoeed to raise the model up a little as well, piling up some cork and finding a place for the larger scenics.

After Descending to chaos for a while, the base was built. I always enjoy this kind of productive mess, tools scattered everywhere, scraps flying, glue, burning my eyes.

I thought the model was done. But the dirt looked a little too uniform. I'm also thinking about adding some bricks and when the time comes, pounding some nails in the wood. But here it is after some texture paste. Much better.

Awesome, looking forward to the next steps! I really enjoy these old school blog posts, I just wish I could see the photos larger. If I open the images separately I can see that they are all just 820px wide. Is that the resolution you upload or does Patreon scale them down? Would love to see the full resolution.

Thanks, Martin! I think it helps to keep things more active, these blog posts. Some of them ate pictures taken with Mt phone, I wonder if that's the problem. I haven't been scaling them down or anything.
