Gungnir, as it turns out, is the same spear as the Lance of Longinus. The mysterious contact was someone who knew one of the astronauts the girls saved back in season 3 episode 1. The documents survived because Kirika and Shirabe saved the plane flying out of Val Verde, which was carrying wartime documents along with the passengers. I love this little scene that shows all the lives they've saved has positive consequences for them. It's pretty cool.
