Hey there, wonderful people!

Times are strange right now, but let's make the best of it and make stuff!  Geometric stuff!  Hot on the heels of the bolted dodecahedron we now have a bolted icosahedron.  20 faces of excitement!

So, you'll notice that we now have triangular panels.  The edge length is the same on these as it is on the squares, pentagons and hexagons, so there's some scope to to more with these beyond this model - there are many polyhedra that can be formed from those face shapes.

To build an icosahedron you'll need:

* 20 triangular faces

* 12 icosahedron corners

* 60 bolts

Assembling these things is so tactile and satisfying, and I have to admit the more bolts a polyhedron ends up with, the more I like it.  There's one more polyhedron I'm going to put up after this one, but if there's one in particular that you'd be excited to see, please let me know! :D

You'll find this model on dropbox under the Bolted Cube folder - look for a new folder under that called Triangular Parts.

xoxo

Sven
