Hey everyone! A lot of progress has been made these past two months but a lot still remains so let's get into it.
July and August were mostly spent continuing work on chapter 3. The level design which has gone through many iterations is now semi finalized and hopefully will not need any further major changes.
The monsters have been implemented and have their basic battle script and abilities. They still require their character sprites and animations.
All the events have been stubbed in and require dialog and animations to be filled in.
The plotline which has given me many headaches has finally been hammered into a more or less coherent state and I think it will be worth the effort.
The art direction of the levels has been mostly finalized but many zones still need dressing. The textures will be replaced with hand painted versions.
Character concepts have been drawn for the inhabitants of the smuggler's cavern and those involved in Caspian's quest.
Updated concept art has been drawn for the lizardmen who will populate the dungeon for chapter 3.
Additional work has been done on chapter 4 including level design, concept art and story finalization in preparation for the final segment of the game.
The current plan is to finish the events involving Caspian in the first section of chapter 3 and make that available to patrons before continuing to build out the dungeon areas.
The amount of work remaining is monumental, however there is a clear path laid out to the end with hopefully few snags along the way. Unfortunately chapter 3 will not be completely finished before the year's end however a barebones version should be in a playable state very shortly after the Caspian release. Therefore more releases should be possible later this year.
