I'm more than a tad dubious about posting Dc or Marvel stuff here, so keep this to yourselves, okay?

Anyhoo, here are my initial roughs for a Harley Quinn variant cover I worked on earlier this summer, which wound up being a shockingly stressful and challenging creative experience, as you'll eventually learn in future posts. The visual motif I elected to pursue was "vaguely cyperpunky SF," so I drew a few roughs of a hardsuited HQ with mechahyenas.

The initial rough was (correctly, IMHO) dismissed as being "too pin-uppy," though I might've been better served to use that big HQ head from the rough's background than the one I wound up drawing.

This considerably more dynamic sketch was selected:

..but dire trouble lay in store for the unsuspecting Yours Truly, as you'll see later next month in subsequent posts.

UPDATE: Also attached a semi-recent charity commission that featured HQ, as seen in an old Work Stages post from 2020.

NEXT TIME ON THIS HERE PATREON: Not sure, TBH, as I'm grinding through my last few days of drawing that 7-page story I'm doing for Marvel's Halloween anthology book Crypt of Shadows. Something should be going up tomorrow, though.
