Behold,  folks, a bunch of Clip Studio Paint sketch sets based on art requests from the $10 and $20 tiers, including my first attempt at coloring in CSP—featuring Galacta, daughter of Galactus, no less! (And also including two old sets which featured recently requested characters.)

A few words (assuming I get time enough on Friday morning to add further text to this post):

Catgirls with yarn! And also a "Lifebringer" version of Galacta (daughter of Galactus), the Marvel character I co-created with artist Hector "Elsevilla" Sevilla Lujan and editor Jordan White. (Apparently the Lifebringer riff is an iteration of Galactus that I was unfamiliar with.)

I don't plan to do much color work in CSP, but this first test wasn't too unpleasant. Onward!

Hilariously enough, that image of Ann from Persona 5 is my take on the incredibly tall and lanky character design, which still wound up kinda short and squat. Almost considered stretching her out digitally before saying, "Ehh, that's good enough as is."

Above, an amusing request for an Empowered take on the famous(-ish) Neal Adams-drawn shirtless swordfight between Batman and Ra's al Ghul.

An old sketch set, obvsly, but I just didn't have the time to draw a new take on Chat Noir and Ladybug (and I quite liked this one), so here it is again!

UPDATE: Dagnabbit, I accidentally uploaded a cropped version that leaves off Lady Bug. Here she is:

Another old set, reposted here for the Shego take.

A new set, this time, featuring two things that I'd forgotten how much I hate drawing: heavily rope-intensive bondage poses and the g-d webbing on Spider-Man's suit, even in the preferable-to-me black-suit iteration.  The same thing happens with both, by the way: I lose interest as an artist immediately and just start scribbling haphazardly in a desultory "get this boring crap outta the way" fashion. (Seriously, with shibari-esque "thousand feet of bindings" imagery like that pose, I've considered just drawing a giant pile of rope with an unrestrained but nonplussed model sitting next to it.)

And, since I just included a bondage pic in the previous set, might as well repost a $20-tier art-request sketch set of imperiled lasses previously seen on the Wednesday DISTRESSED DAMSELS feature:

Here's the Bettie Page pic that the Emp pose is based on:

Yeahp, folks, upgrade to the $5 tier and you get an extra weekly post of commissioned DiD material in both illustration and comics form. Huzzah!

Monday on this here Patreon: Life drawings as usual, folks! (Probably going to post a Party of Two update on Tuesday, BTW.)

I'm not really a fan of bondage, but the "pile of rope plus nonplussed model" has me half-seriously considering a commission...

Matthew Rogers

Dude, my Twi’lek character looks freaking amazing and bad-ass, many thanks!

Eric

Well, the Shibari Emp looks good, so if it helps any, be proud of your work there.

JoJack86

As a rigger who hates complicated rope work I had a good laugh seeing the shibari text and commentary. As always, excellent work and I continue to be impressed with your creativity and versatility!

Lex of Excel

Much obliged for the swordfight! Looks amazing. And it falls on my birthday, too!

Tekkaman-James

Thanks for pushing through on the Spidey piece, sir! It came out really nice despite your distaste for the line work.

Eric

Really nice work on galacta.

Joshua Wolfe

It's a reference to Batman and Ra's Al Ghul sword fighting shirtless.

Strypgia

Emp looks better than Bettie Page in that shot, thanks to her more generous rack. CN and LB look like they could be in an official comic. Is there such a thing yet? Ninjette and Emp both looking good in the swordfight. Really shows off Ninjette's physique. Everything on her is toned and great, lacking only the Most Common Superpower that she's complained about before. And ha ha, poor Emp dealing with rope guys who actually know their stuff.

Joe Crawford

Gaff. Made my day.

Kevin J. Maroney

You might actually enjoy the Al Ewing-written ULTIMATES and ULTIMATES^2 series where Galactus the Lifebringer is created. Ewing has a manic inventiveness that I find intoxicating. Also, separately: Shout-out to early 1960s Ditko designs, where it's obvious he did not give even a single f*ck about how hard something was to draw--not just Spider-Man's webbing, but, say, Kraven the Hunter's costume which has 5 different animal prints in it.

There are so many super-cute and super-fun concepts here, it's always a blast getting to see some of the Emp team messing around with references and other genres alongside the different characters we'd rarely get to see in your care! :)
