A very simplified concept-sheet for Mark and his most immediate cast of supporting characters. I'm not dumping any lore on anyone, just giving the briefest of bios for each character, focusing more on their personality than their history.

Mark is a dumb OC. I invented him at a time when just about every artist on HF (this was before Twitter, I think) had an OC, and I wanted to do what everyone else was doing. 'Mark the Adventurer' was always an intentionally awkward and corny name. He is supposed to be 'me,' but the 'me' I'd be if I had the strength, confidence, and lack of empathy necessary to become an anime-protagonist. He was never supposed to be taken seriously. He is, like me, a joke.

Key is actually a closer aproximation of myself, I think. (Mark, Key, Marky).

Cadence is just my unapologetic dream-girl. Blond, beautiful rich, happy, fun, intelligent, outgoing, loving, curious, feminine, but also a bit wicked and selfish, which I respect. D&D Barbie, basically.

Briar is Cadence's foil. That's basically it.

Tamora is the bad guy.

Thistle is there because I have a fetish for faeries like Tinkerbell.

I started doing Kee-Va and Brule because they're closer to what I think is 'cool,' but Mark is closer to my heart, since my heart is corny and stupid.

I transitioned him into being a Half-Dwarf as a concession to myself. I like Dwarves, and for some reason I just knew that if Mark was Human I'd lose interest in him. Retroactive-continuity is always jarring, but lots of us do it.

Most of my upcoming Mark ideas are very simply chuckle-jokes about rolling 'nat 20s,' or switching between classes, or finding out that God is just a cosmic DM. I've already got a comic about 1/3 done. It features Mark, Key, Thistle, and a trio of Goblins reminiscent of the Powerpuff Girls (since they seemed to be the winners of the last poll I did).

Thanks everyone! Drawing for you has been getting me through Corona. I would be drawing regardless, but it's fucking amazing that I'm getting paid for doing my hobby and I'm not homeless or jobless or dead! Holy shit.

Wild Bill

Kee-Va is really hot.

Barcod

What a cast of quirky characters

Dantels

If you regret having them, be nonhuman, maybe Key could be a quarterling? (Extra funny idea, he blames his small dick on the halfling side to make an excuse to a girl, then she sees a bunch of actual halflings hung near to the ground)

Master Dragon

Keeva and Thistle rule. We need more of those two.

Master Dragon

Wait wasn't the power puff gals semi poll going to be about fallout 4?

John Smith

Its funny you mention the part about more non humans I think the same a lot as well. love Kee-va and Brule it is more cool lol but that is probably cause they are less dumb or you spend much more time laughing at their foes then at them.

So mark and cave girls are in the same world? I hope to see a crossover along with bell.

Can you do a Skyrim series character page like this too?

markydaysaid

Yeah, but my energy is to focus on my on characters for a while, rather than parodying existing properties, but I hate to abandon a poll, so I'm just smooshing them together.

markydaysaid

Oh, no. Sorry, I just included 'Thuinn' as a reference for the other side of my imagination. Mark's world doesn't have a name, since most of the characters in it are not cognizant of concepts like history, culture, or even causality. It's South Park. It's Loony Toons. They The characters can die in one comic and be alive in another without conflict, since nothing matters. These are just jokes. No 'lore.' Kee-Va and Thuinn have actual world-building, but I hate world-building. I think it's anti-creative.

Bandara 😢

Servo Kamen

The history of the planet is quite interesting, I like it.

Jiren

Damn the Gorgon is hot, I loved that image where a Gorgon couldn't turn Mark completely to stone because he was wearing a 50% stone protection necklace.

markydaysaid

That was my very first Mark comic! I was thinking of redrawing that for myself, but with the updated character designs.

Mark’s height: It’s evolving, but backwards
