I've been working diligently, fleshing out each area more and more, while cleaning up any glitches along the way. One particularly annoying glitch I encountered was actually left in from the last version, involving the Summon Faahlda skill. I never noticed that despite the skill being designed to be once per battle, the revival effect actually reset that restriction. Once Mila revived with the effect, all summon skills used would be reset! So, thankfully it's been patched up from what I can gather.

Anyways, I have finished scripting the Arena of Enmity area of the castle. You'll be put into a gauntlet of several rounds against teams of monsters. It was pretty fun in my playtesting, as it's a unique challenge not found elsewhere in the game! Additionally, losing to any fight causes the opposing team members to turn Mila, leading to new sprite forms as seen below:

(Potentially playable monster forms in a future update...? It's possible!)

I also want to showcase another area that hasn't been shown before: The Factory of Agony.

This mechanized area is filled with Power Conduits that require Energy Cells to operate different machinery. The area is also rife with dangerous spikes that are laced with vampiric essence, so be careful where you step!

Your ultimate goal in this area is to restore power to a central elevator that provides access to multiple areas of the castle. But, with all sorts of enemies and traps around, that may prove tricky! This area is also nearly completed, so that's another check off the ol' To-Do list!

That's all I have for you this week, until next time everyone!

Edit: I just want to make a note that I live in an area in the potential danger zone of Tropical Storm Ian. The hurricane will likely make landfall around the middle of the week. Potential outages or damage is possible depending on which direction this storm will go and whether or not it intensifies. I will inform you all of any updates should it affect my work in any way. Thank you for being understanding.

Thank you! Yeah, we had one about 5 years ago that was pretty scary. Thankfully, no major damage in my area!

Seeing the steam punk area and seeing the word "mechanized", part of me can't help but wonder if there will be a "bad end" where we get a Borg-esk Mila. Since some vampire essence is used, I could see that similar to the "experiment" end, she'd technically be immune to being turned but her mind would be mostly broken. I can't help but envision a pale steam punk cyborg Mila having enough intelligence to follow her master/mistress orders but have little to no will of her own. Similar to borg, one attack would involve a n injection of vampire essence which could both technically infect others with both vampirism and poisoning.
