Happy Sunday everyone! I'm thankful to say that the hurricane caused minimal damage on my end. We're all fine over here! Production on the update is still full steam ahead... which leads me to the message that I had been debating on sharing for a few weeks and have finally made a decision on.

I've decided to delay the upcoming release of version 5.1 to December. This is not a decision I'm making lightly as I know many have been anticipating the end of the main story and have already had to wait through a delay. While I can confirm that the scenario is roughly 80% complete, the main reason I want to delay it is to include art that I would otherwise not have been able to add. I considered cutting out some art to meet my October deadline, but as I started scripting more scenes, I kept thinking how disappointing it would be to play through the bad endings and not have any art during the scenes.

As I'm sure that I've have shared many times, I am SLOW when it comes to drawing! I wish I could be like those artists that post a drawing a day on twitter, but I'm not. Additionally, as I've been playing through the new areas, parts of it still require more reworks and testing, which a friend of mine is helping me with, thankfully. There are a few hours worth of playtime in this update alone, so it's a lot to test. Since it's somewhat non-linear, I'm also trying to make sure the game isn't broken if a player decides to skip an area.

Additionally, I'm trying to see how I can get the file size down, as itch.io's file limit for games is 1 GB and my game will be surpassing that a bit, at least if I continue to upload the game as I have in the past. If anyone knows of any compression methods that will not tank that quality of the game, please let me know! File size has been a concern of mine for a while and I want to address it in this update!

I've been working really hard on this and I want every aspect of it to be as impressive as possible for it's debut! I especially wanted to have this update out in time for Halloween, but ultimately it will come out on the month I originally started working on the game. Exactly four years after I began work on this game! How fitting.

Despite the disappointing news, I want leave you all with some art that I can share. Here is a teaser for one of the endings I have finished, the Verlorenne's Bad Ending! The full image is available to all my $5 and up Patrons:

And that's all I have to share with you today. Until next week everyone!
