Every time I think this comic has hit its peak, and there isn't anything that could possibly happen in it that would make me experience the combined giggle/squee/geek-out/fist-pump/desire-to-hug-everyone/laugh emotional explosion in a way that would top previous experiences of it.... It's a mix of both his tone and his technique. Though the 'brown sound' at the time sounded nothing like anyone else. Hence why it was so sought after. I think it's decent. Has it's place, but to me there are better tones out there.

I think Kahler did a bass floating bridge with vibrato bar back in the previous millenium. Search for "bass tremelo fanatics" for more info (or don't, would be my advice).
