It looks like the cup fell between Faye and the Floating Black Slab Emitting A Low Hum. Given how strong Bubbles is and how fast she'd have to move to catch it the danger that she might clip Faye or the Floating Black Slab Emitting A Low Hum if they moved unexpectedly would have made catching the latte too risky.
