MNL Progress Report #14 (Patreon)

Hey there, nudies! Sorry for the slight delay in this week's progress report. Some of the team has had some personal matters to attend to what with the holidays quickly approaching, so much of our focus has just been on the graphical side of things. Invertex has been working on the environmental shading with the townhouse, utilizing some cool new lighting tech. It's gotten a lot brighter in this house! The new tool works really well, but still requires a bit of manual touching up. Though actually using it gives everything a sort of found-footage horror vibe at first....

We've also applied a cel-shaded outline on the environment as well, giving it even more of a strong comic-y feel. Everything is coming together so nicely!

Apologies for taking this long on the graphical side of things. I know you all are probably getting eager for a slightly more substantial update. For a game like this though, it's absolutely vital to nail the aesthetic. 3D development is definitely more than a bit tricky, as you can see in the screenshot below.

I think we're getting close to wrapping these graphics up and moving on to the funner stuff. In fact, our animation AT has also finished up Amber's conversational animations! These are all the animations we need to animate Amber having a convincing conversation with someone. They came out adorable, but we have to keep some of these a secret. You'll have to wait and see more when the demo comes out!

Important note: No progress report next Friday! It's actually Leslie and my anniversary this month, and we'd been planning a short vacation for a while now. We haven't had a real trip anywhere that wasn't a hurricane evacuation for at least 5 years! We'll be back on Dec. 23rd! Hope you all have a good holiday break yourself!
