We pulled together the ol' cheap tan couches today to film a new "Rich and Jay Talk About" video. This time, we catch up on Cobra Kai seasons 1 and 2 since a lot of people are only just now discovering it since it's been added to Netflix. The discussion also ended up being a mini-re:View of The Karate Kid Part 3 since it's kind of hilariously bad.

Robot in the family must be added to the BOTW hall of fame!!

Dion Turner

I’ve been struggling to get into season 2, but I didn’t mind the first one

Dimitri German

That Spider-Man poster made me realize I want to hear Jay talk about the Raimi Spideys.

Anonymous

Who’s the bobblehead on the BOTW Hall of Fame?

Anonymous

Hopefully, when it's done, you'll pull the couches back together to talk about season two of The Boys

Anonymous

I just don’t get why the BotW Hall of Fame isn’t just called “The Hall of the Worst”.

Anonymous

Why is Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister is the BoTW hall of fame?

Anonymous

Rotj reference! I got it! lol

Anonymous

Hashbrown Cobra Kai, and send it to the internet!

Anonymous

Sounds like it’s going to be a fun video

Anonymous

Is that Cameron Mitchell in the best of the worst hall of fame?

Anonymous

Are you guys gonna do Tenet?

Anonymous

I can’t wait to see them reference Mike Barnes (Karate Kid 3) as the Verotica Bald Cop Guy in a clip

Tony P.

It's Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McAllister. They picked it up at Milwaukee's Bobblehead Museum...at least I'm pretty sure that's the story.

Anonymous

Is Ralph Macchio replacing Macauley Culkin?

Marvin Falz

A new "Rich and Jay Talk About" is always welcome.

Love to see the Starbucks cup making another guest appearance

Lisa

Can we not add anything else to the Hall of Fame? Kinda think it's perfect as is.

I like how season 1 starts off with Miguel as the “Daniel” of the story but then has him become Johnny by the end. The show was pitched as karate kid but cobra Kai is the good guy. But that’s not what it actually was. The first episode shows Daniel in a negative light bc it’s all Johnny’s perspective. But later, Daniel is still a good guy and Johnny is still kinda bad. We get introduced to sam’s aka Miguel’s love interest/Daniel’s daughter’s boyfriend kyler and he’s Miguel’s bully. And because Daniel has a good relationship with his daughter, it almost seems like kyler was going to eventually train under Daniel and we’d have Johnny’s student Miguel (Daniel) vs daniel’s student kyler (Johnny). They quickly get rid of that kid and bring in Robby into daniel’s life. At this point Sam is dating Miguel. Everything’s set up. Robby is going to train under Daniel. Robby is obviously going to fall for Sam. Miguel will somehow become Johnny. The boyfriend of the girl who fights the new guy who is trying to get with her. Daniel fulfills his destiny and becomes mr miyagi. And since the show is called cobra Kai, Miguel wins the tournament, twisting the karate kid just one more time before ending the season.

I remember reading the novelization of The Karate Kid Part 3 in middle school and then watching the movie...the book was better lmao

I actually enjoy Karate Kid 3. Yes it's terrible, but it's terrible in a fun way.

Jessie Zimmer

I'm honestly surprised you still have those couches. They've survived a lot. Y'all are thrifty as fuck, and I appreciate that.

Awesome

Oh man I hope they love it

Joshua Cubbin

You can tell Jay is going to sit on the left because of the coffee the size of a man

The Osteoporosis Dance, Turtle Dreams and Robot in the Family deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. Those episodes are comedic gold. I'm going to have to watch Motel Hell asap.

David Perek

Use the patreon taxes to upgrade that room with some wood paneling or something, and it would be golden.

Stephanie Lloyd

Aw I'm glad the golden couches (tm) are still around

Anonymous

And Rich still has to sleep on the floor? You guys are harsh.

Really liked season 1 of Cobra Kai, season 2 had a stupid ending as far as I remember and was pretty forgetable as a whole.

Anonymous

At the risk of being called a pedophile I kinda want to see you guys HITB Cuties just to see the ensuing clusterfuck on Twitter.

Jessie Zimmer

I get the drama part of it, but please god no. They already inflict enough trauma on each other.

Cobra Kai was made by Sony, put on YouTube Red in 2018 (Now called YouTube premium); and only now are ppl watching it since Netflix has the distribution rights.

Mike St Louis

I would say that Cobra Kai (at least S1) is probably the best sequel/soft reboot of an ‘80s movie ever done. So once more I’ll be tuning in with interest. RLM is hitting it out of the park with all the content they’ve been dropping.

Katy

Great prompt to binge rewatch the show; thanks for a fun all-nighter.

Manuel Johnen

Those first two free Episodes of "Cobra Kai" were the best thing I've seen in 2018... and I went to see "Infinity War" in a theatre.

Completely off topic, but I hope they do a review of Irresistible - Jon Stewart's apparently terrible movie that no one saw bc of COVID. Seems like it could be funny bad given how harsh some of the reviews were.

They left a starbucks cup on set while filming! How embarrassing!

CarSVernon .

i mean people watched it before too, it was just easier for the majority to ignore.

So looking forward to this. My buddy and I reference karate kid 3 (mainly the pony-tailed villain) alllll the time when we talk bad movies etc.

Tony P.

I hope they address how the Larusso's youngest son went completely missing in the second season. He was such an afterthought that the family pictures in Daniel's room only showed the daughter and wife! Hilarious. Worthless character? Of course, but let's start #justiceforwhatshisface.
