**BLESSED HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

This episode was SO cool in how it plays with the concept of the "timeline" and what we THINK we know going on with the plot!

There are ghosts from Vash's past, reveals with characters we've met, and some hard-hitting themes of idealism vs. realism that are going to test the bonds between Vash and his companions this season! What an episode!

Loved the reaction & discussion! It is so interesting to watch this in such proximity to rewatching the original series. I agree regarding Meryl's characterisation so far, I think it makes Roberto stand out more in contrast, as well. But there is also a general whumpification happening - notably with Vash. I think in the original he had much more time to be built up and then the morality testing chipped away at him. But in Stampede, every episode so far has had the boundaries of his ethics quite cruelly confronted - it feels like a much darker tone. This episode especially was very sad. The beautiful track which played in the Vash & Rollo scene in the desert is called Boy & VASH (link with static no-spoiler image, comments off, as usual): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Am0YQl4qZ04 Looking forward to next week!

The Vash and Rollo dynamic was so bittersweet, and thank you for the track for them! And yes, the idea that we got to see Vash being tested slowly but surely is being flipped on its head in this series; which doesn't bother me so much or as much as Meryl getting constantly "schooled" by Roberto rather than just being a general badass like she is in the OG series -- it's not enough to make me dislike Stampede, but Roberto's character is definitely my least favorite for it. Regardless, thank you for the kind words and comment! The style of this episode and the cruelty of it was brutal but i really enjoyed it! ONTO NEXT WEEK!
