**PLOT TWIST HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

WOW, so...a LOT happens in this episode!  I'm sure there's lots of manga fun I'll catch up with when I react to it after this season that was left out or rearranged this episode, but can I say --

-- Fukuchi's character FASCINATES me now more than ever and I'm SO glad for the last few moments of this episode. "He's heeeeeerrrrrreeeeee!"

The last sequence really felt like a “you came” “you called” situation xD I don’t know if you also heard, also information from the panel, Asagiri mentioned that he wants a sixth season and a movie, to which the president of studio bones replied, “well give me more content to read and adapt”, which is funny, but I’m glad it’s kinda confirmed that we will get further seasons ^^

What's interesting to me is how well Asagiri distributes symbolism throughout BSD in the most powerful, yet quietest of ways. It's the little details sprinkled in that has me guffawed and mindblown by the time I realize just how prevalent it all actually was with future events. And to think that he's correlating so much of these characters to their real life counterparts while also representing trauma and mental health so PERFECTLY. Cause if you look at these characters, they're not easy to understand or break down because of how complex they actually are. It's never surface-level with Bungou and tbh I see a lot of portrayals of depression, suicidal ideation, OCD, ADHD, Autism, possible personality disorders like Bipolar or DID or Narcissism. Even religious things like Orthodox Christianity, Nihilism and Amorality, other disability representation and feminism, etc etc. What I love about this series is how much room for interpretation/headcanons/theories there is and how fleshed out the characters are in their universe. And trauma is so vast and able to be handled in so many different ways with so many different responses. All the BSD characters react differently to their personal traumas, but all of them are victims in their own right. We even see some of them compare their pain to others' pain, as if they have to convince themselves their actions are justified since they "went through worse" than their enemy has been through. The discussions of war and humanity and what makes a soul, a soul, or the dysfunction of every day living among mankind is just SO REAL to me. That's a big reason why I love this series so much, it's not just a manga/anime to me. I've always been interested in psychological and philosophical media. Because this world is imperfect and hard to survive in, BSD comforts me and I feel like it understands me in ways nothing else can because of how relatable it is under the layers of fantasy plot. “This story is not for people who are good at living. In this world, there exist people who are so good at living that they do not need a ‘story’ at all. They are the ones who think that stories are, after all, just a pastime for your hobbies, that they are not necessary for your life, and therefore are a waste to spend money on. I did not assume such people to be my readers from the beginning, I cut the others off because there are certainly individuals who need stories like oxygen. I always hope that Bungou Stray Dogs will become the oxygen for those people. They are the ‘lost ones’ that Dazai talked about.” — Asagiri Kafka

Oh, that's exciting! I mean, I'm ALL FOR another season and a movie! But that's exciting; thank you for letting me know that info and for the comment! :)

Yes, probably one of the coolest things is how the characters tie alongside their author counterparts! And yeah, touching on personalities, symbolism with the authors AND stories, and religion and other ideologies talked about IN their stories and then put in the series; it’s a lot of fun! And yes, TRAUMA is such a central theme in this story and how it’s presented through different lenses, I agree! I love your passion for this series and how you break it down in this comment! Thank you! I’m a character-driven person with series, and BSD has so many good ones! :) Ahhh, that quotation from Asagiri is PERFECTION. That’s so good – I love the idea of stories like BSD being “oxygen” for those that need it! :) That’s so good! Thank you for the kind words and comment! I can’t wait for more!
