We are on our way in this manga and already to the Seiho and Shutoku games from Season 1! Seeing how the mangaka draws Midorima so softly is such a riot, but I'm loving the adaptation so far and all the little details that are added with these two volumes!  

But how DARE the mangaka leave on that cliffhanger?! What the heck!?

Because of that one blooper (when he tried to be cool and time talking with the ball going into the hoop, but instead it took even longer) will always make that turn around Midorima does dorky. With how small and innocent Kuroko looks in the manga, that moment with him agreeing with Kagami about being excited to face two tough opponents in the same day, it definitely reads as a much more cute moment than how it was in the anime. In the anime the tone was definitely more humorous than cute. Continuing on with my headcanon from last week regarding Kuroko and headpats, I feel like Mitobe's headpats would be much gentler and actual pats to the top of his head. Whereas Kagami and Murasakibara it's more palm his head and tousle his hair/head. I have heard Japanese pizza can be an *experience*...one which I stayed away from on both my visits 😂 Oh that DVD blooper was good...feel like it could potentially give Kuroko flashbacks to Aomine though. I didn't think about it when watching the anime but Kise really is such a good friend. He doesn't understand Midorima's whole schtick with Oha Asa and his Lucky Items. But because *Midorima* believes in, Kise listens to it too, and puts some faith into the daily report as well. Hint of Kuroko's past feels like a video game where you've unlocked a character's past but you aren't at a high enough level to view it all 🤣 Which they do slowly feed us bits and pieces of it in the anime, but then there's a whole chunk just gets dumped on you in the Teiko Arc and honestly leaves you floundering a bit from all the angst immediately following the highs and wonders of youth. Kasamatsu forcibly taking care of his kouhai in that blooper. But that declaration from Kise of "I am a model!" made me laugh and think "Then you should know how important good hydration is, Kise!" In the anime I feel like Midorima has an older, harsher/more abrupt feel to him. Like you say, in the manga however he definitely comes across more soft. He still exudes confidence in his ability, just he seems more his actual age. I agree a little information box explaining such shots or positions would definitely help to teach any anime-only fans a little bit about basketball. It's a part I'd say was lacking in the anime in comparison to most of the sport anime I've watched. Though for the majority of those anime there's a newbie to the sport as a regular player so it makes sense to introduce them to different concepts of the sport, and the viewer learns alongside them. In Kuroko no Basuke the newbies to basketball on Seirin (Furihata, Fukuda, and Kawahara) are side characters, so we don't have that connection and chance to learn with them. Can I say I love that other teams they can go to the bathroom on their own, but the couple of times we see Kuroko in a bathroom he's accompanied by someone else from Seirin. Something Karasuno really should have probably adopted for Hinata in Haikyuu!! 😂 I have possibly watched the anime too much because I heard Hosoya's voice saying that "I'm exhausted" line. The image of Kagami all fired up looks really cool. Love the linework for it. Kuroko doing that full court pass, the trajectory in the manga makes Kuroko seem even more of a little sh*t than he was in the anime. Like he aimed it to go right passed Midorima's face and over his shoulder to get to Kagami. Why couldn't we get dizzy Kuroko in a blooper? That was so cute. Truly adorable imagining Kuroko doing too many spinning passes and getting dizzy so unable to aim right. Though it has made a potential AU pop into my head: ballerino Kuroko who needs to work on his spotting for his pirouettes meets street dancer Kagami who gives him some tips (yes it's a bit of a Save The Last Dance AU) 🤣 It really does feel like a game of chess between Nakatani and Riko considering their similar poses and parallel panels. Also Nakatani has dark hair with a white shirt and dark-coloured tie, and then Riko is his opposite with lighter coloured hair, dark uniform, and a white sailor-style collar; very much like the opposing sides of a chess board. I love this comparison between them because they are definitely my two favourite coaches in the anime. That image of Takao behind Kuroko reminds me a lot of the fifth Ending with Akashi appearing behind Kuroko. Also Takao's eyes definitely look a lot closer to how they are in the anime in that panel. Kagami taking Kuroko's fantastical ideas of how Seirin can win to name his shot he developed to help defeat the Generation of Miracles...that's our ship folks! 😍🥰 That punch Kuroko hit Kagami with definitely has a lot of past suffering fuelling it! The mangaka really does do an excellent job of using the double spreads to their advantage. They all look amazing! AOMINE!!! 😍😍😍 Barely get anything but damn for that first glimpse it's so good! Also hurts because you get the glimpse of his mental state 🥺 That really is such an evil way to end the volume!

That is really sweet about Kise, though; Kise being supportive of people, despite whether he “gets it” or not is really cute! Midorima DEFINITELY feels older and “harsher” in the anime with his appearance and tone than in the manga. And YES, the manga makes Kuroko’s slightly “creepy” moments much cuter with how innocently he’s drawn! The “unlocking” of each moment DOES feel like a video game, though, I so agree! Bahahaha, maybe Karasuno should have taken a page from KNB and sent someone with Kuroko to the bathroom, haha! Also, now I need a “Save the Last Dance” AU with KagaKuro, thank you very much! <3 And yes, the KagaKuro moments are really starting to come out in the manga and I couldn’t be happier! Don't worry about if it takes a while to reply. You get *a lot* of replies so it's amazing that you reply to all of them. As for Japanese pizza I've heard some can have crazy toppings like: tuna mayonnaise pizza; chocolate, banana, and mascarpone cheese pizza; or cream sauce, potato, and three cheese. But yes I'm definitely with you on the fact there are a lot of different Japanese foods to try/eat instead. Similar to some people I know that go to Spain but only eat at the English restaurants.

Oh.......oh no. Hahaha, I'm not a big mayonnaise/sour cream/cream cheese person, so that would be...nope. Hahaha!! I think I would fare alright in Japan with the other food they had, so I could skip on the pizza! :P
